We all love a good David vs. Goliath story, where the little guy triumphs against impossible odds to win a miraculous victory. On one level, Genesis 14 is this kind of underdog story. But this passage has far more meaning for us. We need to explore Abram's perspective as he sacrificially and redemptively pursues his obnoxious nephew and wins his freedom for him. We need to see how Abram's vision of El Elyon (God Most High) and His loyal love inspired his courage. Above all, we need to see how this story ultimately points us to the hope of salvation that is ours because of the pursuit of Christ's loyal love for us!
