For many the story of blind Bartimaeus is a picture of the eternal salvation of a sinner. But closer look at the story reveals that Bartimaeus was a man of faith already who sought a temporal blessing from the Lord as he was passing by. As such this is a vital lesson for believers everywhere to seek the Lord's blessing regardless of your need. And so we find that the lesson of Bartimaeus echoes the words of Isaiah who said, "Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return unto the Lord and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." (Is 55:6-7)
