And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. (Matthew 8:7)
A large part of our Lord's ministry was showing who he was by the miracles he performed, and that he had power to address the effect of sin on the body and soul. We are told later in this chapter how scripture was being fulfilled. "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses." (Matthew 8:17) Like the Lord, many of his people are chosen in the furnace of affliction, and many are the afflictions of the righteous.
This message is for those passing through sickness and affliction.
