Some people hear the term "Judgment Seat" and automatically associate this with a judgment on sin. That is not what the bible is talking about here. The Judgment Seat of Christ is a public judgment in Heaven of the works that you did while on earth, after you got saved, in the name of Jesus. It is not a judgment on sin because sin was already dealt with at the cross. If you are saved then all your sins have already been wiped away and forgotten about. The Judgment Seat is a literal fire into which your earthly works for the Lord will be cast into.
"Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences." 2 Corinthians 5:9-11 (KJB)
