In this sermon we consider the moral perfection of Jesus' emotions. We have "temperaments", emotional profiles draw from our tendencies to emotional imbalance: choleric, phlegmatic, sanguine, melancholic. Jesus' emotions were far more complex & always perfectly righteous in response to people & circumstances. What lay at the root of His emotional obedience? Faith. His faith is evidenced by His confidence in God's Word. We'll learn more about Jesus' emotional stability in the next sermon, but in this message we learn enough to ask: Am I willing to regulate my emotions by the Word of God? If we are an emotional mess, it is because our faith is not adequately fastened to the Word of God. As we learn about Jesus, we learn of His humble heart & how to grow in Christ-like emotional equilibrium.
