In order to engage others, you must have a firm belief in your own faith. When engaging others, find out their thoughts on Scripture, the Deity of Christ, and Justification. Charles Taze Russell founded the system of belief in 1884 known as the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society. Russell claimed the Bible could only be understood through his interpretation. The Ways JW's Differ From Christianity: 1.) They alter Scripture for their own purposes. The New World Translation is their own version of Scripture. They compliment the NWT w/the KJV. Adding/subtracting words/phrases to explain the Holy Spirit. 2.) JW's deny the deity of Christ. Zech. 12:10; John 1:1; Col. 1 are examples of passages they alter. JW's are tied to an early church heresy Arianism. They worship Jesus but not as God. They also misuse Jesus limiting Himself as proof that He's not God. John 10:30,20:28-29 are examples in the NWT showing Jesus as God. Syllogism of Athanasius - "Only God can Save. Jesus Christ saves. Therefore, Jesus Christ is God." JW's Requirements for Salvation - 1.) Knowledge of Jesus & God and their roles on earth. 2.) Obey God's laws (good works). 3.) Associate w/God's channel on earth (today, the Watch Tower society is the only one that exits.) 4.) Loyalty to telling others about Jehovah & His kingdom, using the Watch Tower publications. Paradise is reached through God PLUS other things. **Any faith plus good works is a religion/cult that is futile.** Romans 5:1 - salvation ONLY comes through faith alone in Christ. JW's deny the Trinity & the existence of the Holy Ghost; believe Jesus is really the Arch-angel Michael; Jesus died on a stake. Many former Baptists & Methodists are JW's.
