This is a study of Paul’s first epistle, the epistle to the Church at Thessalonica. This is the first epistle that Paul ever wrote. Thessalonica was a Roman Colony city, right in the heart of the Roman empire, with a rich, long and varied history. Here Paul reminds them of his warning to them of coming trouble or persecution. But he makes it clear that by their growth in the Lord they should not be troubled or disturbed by these things. Paul speaks of the fear that his labor among them might have been in vain. This is, all too often, a part of the Christian life, as we see those we are laboring with and praying for, struggling in their walk with the Lord.
