When the Lord Jesus was eight days old, he was circumcised, and on his fortieth day, he was presented in the Temple in keeping with the Law of Moses (Luke 2:21-23).
This was to fulfill all righteousness; it wasn't because our Lord needed to be cleansed from sin but for him to stand in solidarity with us in all the ordinances of God. This is expressed so well in Galatians 4:4, where we are told that God sent forth his Son to be born of a woman and to be born under the Law. As we reflect on those two truths, we should reflect on God's distinction between males and females.
There are many passages in Scripture that reflect the different natures of males and females and their different roles in the home and the church (e.g. Ephesians 5:18-33; 1 Peter 3:7), but 1 Timothy 2:8-15 is of particular relevance.
That passage also points us to the redemption of Eve, the Virgin Mary, and all women on the condition of a true response to the gospel. And this redemption is through the childbirth, the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, who was born to die to save us from our sins.
