Herein we survey Hebrews 2 to answer this question, and see that man was created to rule over God's creation in His stead, as vice-regents.
By doing so, they would bring into subjection everything to God, for His glory.
Instead, we see that in Genesis 3, Adam, our representative, handed over his crown to Satan. Man is brought into subjection by a snake! Through sin, man has not fulfilled his original mandate.
Hence the necessity of the second Adam, Jesus Christ, to restore what Adam lost through sin.
Herein we see why Jesus Christ is so much greater than the angels: as God, He took on human flesh to restore mankind's rule over the world to come.
An intersting study leading us into the Lord's Table. Christ had to wear a crown of thorns for us to reacquire our crown of life.
