Continuing from last week, Pastor Simpson spoke on the 2 ways in which the word "saved" is used in Scripture. When Jesus came to earth, the Scripture declares that He shall save His people." The heart and soul of the gospel is that when Jesus came, His work was so complete and sufficient, there was nothing more that could be added to it or taken away from it. Colossians 2:14 declares that Jesus nailed our sins to the cross. 1 Peter 2:24 declares that Jesus, in His Own self and His Own body bore our sins by Whose stripes we were healed. What more can be said or added? All men, without any external considerations, are to be saved according to 1 Timothy 2:4. The spiritual birth is a secret transaction of God is the power of the Holy Spirit, but what we see is the calling, the revelation, of the believers that results in the outward expression of faith. If the Spirit calls, you can do nothing else, but come. There can be nothing we do to add to or take away from salvation. www.ProvidenceUnderGrace.com
