For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39). All my childhood I was told by a preacher that God loved me. That was pretty much all that he told me. I must admit, that after a while, the god that he preached seemed pathetic, frustrated and needy. It was as though God was presented as one who loved everybody, and nobody loved him back. I can remember at times feeling sorry for God. God became no more than just a needy god to me, but this is not the God of the Bible!
A man that preaches a needy God, preaches a false God. A man or woman that believes in a needy God, believes in a false God. Psalm 115:3 plainly states, "Our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased." Is any thing too hard for the LORD (Gen. 18:14)? Job said, "I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee." It seems reasonable to me that the God of heaven and earth is not needy, frustrated or pathetic. He is able to raise up stones to love and worship Him (Matt. 3:9).IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD . He loves me in Christ, and only because of what Christ did for, and in me. God now says of me what He said of His first begotten Son; "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Only in Christ is God well pleased with me.
