Eternal Security

“And this is the Father’s will, THAT OF ALL WHICH HE HATH GIVEN ME I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day” (John 6:39).

Quite frankly, eternal election and eternal predestination GUARANTEE eternal glory! Our salvation, security, and resurrection in that great day do not rest upon anything in us or done by us, but upon the Father’s purpose and the Son’s obedience and sacrifice. Without exception, He that has begun a good work in you will complete that work until the day of Jesus Christ.

It is quite true that if a man believes on Christ, he shall be saved; but His elect WILL believe! It is true that all who love Christ shall be saved; but His elect WILL love Christ, they WILL love one another, they WILL bear fruit, and they WILL continue in the faith.

John summed it up when he said, “They went out from us, which proves they never were OF US; for if they had been OF US, they would no doubt have continued.”

POSSIBLE?

One of the biggest lies and blasphemous statements that hireling preachers make today is that “Jesus Christ made salvation possible.” To say that Christ only made redemption “possible” is to say that He did all that He could do but came up short. It is to say that God the Son, our sovereign, successful, Savior could not finish the work that God the Father sent Him to do. If the Lord Jesus only made our salvation “possible,” and left it up to us to do something, then Christ’s precious blood is not effectual, but useless, and of no profit to the believing child of God.

But this is not true. You cannot preach the true Christ of the Bible and proclaim that He wound up doing less than what God sent Him to do. Did the Lord Jesus Christ save all that the Father gave Him before the foundation of the world? The Lord Himself said that He did. “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37) Will there be one sinner that the Father gave to Christ that He willed to save that will be lost? Our Lord said that there wouldn’t. “And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” (John 6:39) And the only proof that any skeptic might need to prove this to be so is the words of our Lord from the cross, “It is finished.” (John 19:30)

Dear reader, our Lord and Savior did not make salvation “POSSIBLE.” He made it CERTAIN by the sacrifice of Himself, doing for us what we could never do for ourselves. Pastor David Eddmenson

MY RIGHTEOUS STANDING BEFORE GOD

Whenever I think of standing before the holy God of the Bible, on my own, my thoughts turn, not to life and acceptance, but to sin and death (Romans 7:9). However, as I think of standing before this holy God, in Christ, I can sing from my heart, “Free from the law, Oh happy condition!” (Romans 7:1-4).

You see, Christ Jesus has obeyed and satisfied the law of God for me(Matthew 5:17,18; Romans 5:19). Now, through faith in Him (the Lord Jesus Christ), that One whom God chose and sent to be my Substitute andSurety, it is as ifI myself had satisfied the law of God. No, it is much better than that. Yea, infinitely better! Had I personally and perfectly satisfied the law of God, it would have been a perfect righteousness, but rendered by a mere man. But the righteousness which the Lord Jesus Christ rendered unto God, in my name, is the righteousness of One who is not only a perfect man, but also the eternal God!

His righteousness is of infinite, measureless, indescribable value and worth the, “Righteousness of God” (Romans 3:21, 22: Philippians 3:9). Now this is the way I see it: God is more pleased with me, this old “dead dog sinner” (II Kings 8:13: II Samuel 9:8), in Christ, than if I had personally and perfectly kept His holy law myself. Therefore, when I consider how much I owe unto my God, and my total inability to pay, I offer unto Him the Lord Jesus Christ as my Substitute. God is delighted to accept HIM, and me IN HIM! What a wonderful, full, complete, and everlasting salvation! What amazing love and grace! What an amazing God and Saviour! Pastor Maurice Montgomery
