Singles...You Might Be Wondering...
This past Sunday we studied “Singleness for the Sake of the Kingdom” from Matt 19:10-12. The main idea is that single life, whether for a period of time or a lifetime, is a gift from God. It’s an opportunity to live for Christ and His gospel without the added restraints and obligations of marriage. So make the most of your single days for the glory of God!! Since it is a gift to be used for the kingdom, don’t waste it. Single Life Wasters
Constantly seeking to be entertained
Coasting through this phase of life
Putting career or relationships in the driver seat
Sinning away the single years until marriage
YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING…how to spend your single years or single life for the sake of the kingdom. Here are a few ways to spend your singleness with a Godward vision for life.
Keep putting God and His glory in the driver seat of your life. Give God your heart and pursue Him. Allow Him to direct your educational, vocational, and relational choices. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. Matt 6.33 Focus on your relationship with God. How are you specifically growing in the Lord? Walking with the Lord daily? How are you being discipled to progress in your knowledge and love of the Lord? Who is mentoring you to become the man or woman of God you are created to be? Be on the lookout for opportunities to serve others, serve in the church, share your faith, do big things for God. Singleness does not have to be a lonely, odd phase or life void of meaning, purpose, or spiritual vitality. It can be vibrant and spiritually adventurous! It shouldn’t be a time or lifetime void of finding your greatest joy and treasure in Christ. Fill your life with God and the things of God, and He will fill your life!!
