Proverbs 24:11–12 (NKJV): Deliver those who are drawn toward death,

And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.
12 If you say, “Surely we did not know this,”
Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it?
He who keeps your soul, does He not know it?
And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

What is our responsibility to our fellow man? What is our obligation to those who are running to their own destruction? Are we permitted by our God to just "let them live their lives" and to "mind our own business"? Is that high sounding drivel something we should be willing to live with? Despite the preferences of (and pressure from) the culture to just "live and let live", we have an obligation to speak the truth into the darkness. What's more, we have the clear command of God to do everything in our power to actively RESCUE them, to deliver them, to hold them back from the slaughter, to make certain that we have done all in our power to prevent them from running headlong into the death that looms ever nearer. The opposition we face when we engage in this work is just a symptom of the larger epidemic that rages across mankind which empties the individual of their intrinsic worth. Denying that we are formed in the image of God, we feel no guilt when our fellow image bearers destroy themselves, because in our fallen worldview, each one belongs only TO himself and has neither responsibility nor accountability to anyone else. Nothing could be further from the truth, for God will call us to account for the death of those around us. He commands us to care, and truly, isn't it the most concerning and condemning aspect of this that we HAVE to be commanded to care? That we fight so hard for the "right" to be apathetic towards those who walk this life with us? It is appalling and saddening, and more, that lack of concern diminishes us all. Beloved, understand that God put us here with the people who are around us, He has ordained those who are in our lives FOR US... they are each our responsibility. We MUST do all that we can to see them safely into the arms of Jesus, for they need Him. Make no mistake, God will save His own, but how terrible will it be for us on the day of judgement to admit to God, that we did not care about those who He loved with the blood of His Son!!
