Man that is born of woman is but a few days and full of trouble (Job 14:1). Because we are born in sin, trouble naturally follows this flesh to the grave (Psalm 51:5) but those who are blessed with faith in Christ; in the day of their death and departure, no more trouble, sorrow or sin (Rev.21:4). This is only true for those who are blessed to die in faith, resting in and trusting the Lord Jesus Christ; “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord” (Rev. 14:13). That is why the apostle Paul said, “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Phil. 1:21). No wonder the Lord said, the death of a believer is precious in His sight (Psalm 116:15; John 17:24). – Tom Harding

When you are forgotten, or neglected, or purposely set at naught, and you don't sting and hurt with the insult or the oversight, but your heart is still happy, being counted worthy to suffer for Christ,

THAT IS DYING TO SELF

When your good is evil spoken of, when your wishes are crossed, your advice disregarded, your opinions ridiculed, your best intentions misinterpreted, and you refuse to let anger rise in your heart, or even defend yourself, but rather take it all in patient, loving silence, knowing that Christ alone is your defender,

THAT IS DYING TO SELF

When you patiently bear annoyance, disorder, inconvenience, irregularity, and any impunctuality from others; when you feel your time has been wasted and you’ve been treated harshly and unfairly and yet you still respond in love, maintaining your peace, and enduring these things with meekness as Jesus endured,

THAT IS DYING TO SELF

When you don’t care to refer to yourself in conversation, when you don’t feel the need to boast of your accomplishments and record every good deed you do for the world to see, when you don’t itch after commendation and applause, when you don’t mind when others are acknowledged and your name is ignored, when you would rather be unknown,

THAT IS DYING TO SELF

When you see your brother prospering, and you can honestly rejoice with him in spirit, feeling no envy nor question God, while your own needs are far greater and in desperate circumstance,

THAT IS DYING TO SELF

When you can receive correction and reproof from one of less stature than yourself and can humbly submit inwardly as well as outwardly, finding no rebellion or resentment rising up within your heart,

THAT IS DYING TO SELF

When you consider all your righteousnesses as ‘filthy rags’; all your knowledge, morality, best deeds, talents, or anything about yourself, as worthless, and believe from the heart that Christ alone is worthy of praise, that Christ is your righteousness;

THAT IS DYING TO SELF

There is a Reason

For every pain that we must bear, for every sorrow, every care, there is a reason.

For every falsehood that is said, for every teardrop that is shed, there is a reason.

For every grief, for every trial, for every weary lonely mile, there is a reason.

For we will trust God as we should, all this will work out for our good, because
