There is no doubt that we are living in troublous times. In Psalm 77, we read of the Psalmist who refused to be comforted in a difficult time in his life, who also asked 6 questions in regard to being comforted by God in a time when he was depressed and refused to be comforted by God. These 6 questions are found in (V7-8):
Q1: "Will the Lord cast off forever?"
Q2: "Will He (God) be favorable no more?"
Q3: "Is His (God's) mercy clean gone forever?"
Q4: "Doth His (God's) promise fail forevermore?"
Q5: "Hath God forgotten to be gracious?"
Q6: "Hath He (God) in anger shut up His tender mercies?"
Allow me to answer these 6 questions for you:
A1: NO, the Lord will NOT cast (US) off forever?
A2: YES, God WILL continue to be favorable to His people. To you Christian!
A3: NO, God's mercy and compassion toward His people is NOT clean gone forever.
A4: NO, God's precious promises to His people will NEVER fail.
A5: NO, God has NOT forgotten to be gracious.
A6: NO, God has NOT shut up His tender mercies toward us.
God has promised that He will NEVER leave us, nor forsake us". Hebrews 13:5
As bad as the world becomes, and as difficult as your situation may be at present; God is a very present help in trouble. So BE STILL child of God, God has not forgotten you.
Psalm 62:5-8: "My soul wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my Rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the Rock of my strength and my refuge, is in God. Trust in at all times ye people, pour out your hearts before Him, God is a refuge for us. Selah"
There may be times when we may ask questions like the Psalmist in Psalm 77; in those times, we have need of resorting by faith to the real answers to these questions from the Word of God! And, by the way, the Psalmist did confess (V10): "This is my infirmity"; then he began to remember the goodness of His God toward him.
Jeremiah, from his Lamentations, Ch:3:22-23 teaches us that God's compassions do not fail toward us; they are NEW every morning, GREAT is the faithfulness of our God toward us!
