Federal appeals court rules against New York COVID restrictions on religious gatherings
The federal Appeals Court for the 2nd Circuit has ruled in favor of religious groups, blocking the state of New York's restrictions on gatherings that were enacted to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The federal court held in a unanimous 3-0 decision that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, two synagogues, and Agudath Israel, an Orthodox Jewish group, had their free exercise rights violated because of Governor Andrew Cuomo's attendance caps that were issued in early October. Cuomo's policy permitted to the lesser of 10 people or 25% capacity in zones where COVID-19 risk was the highest and 25 people or 33% capacity in the less risky zones.
The ruling ordered that the caps had to be enjoined while the case is pending, which means that the state cannot enforce such caps against any house of worship. The appellate court remanded Agudath Israel's case to the district court in Brooklyn, ordering...

Nothing I have said says that. Of course it’s real. Coronaviruses have been around forever. One of them can give you Covid-19. Others can give you the common cold. The difference between this “novel” version and influenza is in the handling of them. It should be plain enough. When churches, small businesses, beaches and gyms are closed, but abortion clinics, liquor stores, casinos, and big box stores are open, then yes it is done for political, not medical reasons.
Where did the flu go? Maybe crafty Covid swallowed it up. Reports are coming out that flu is historically low this year with some countries reporting zero cases so far. Usually flu vaccines are offered to the elderly and those with underlying health conditions because of higher fatality risks, the point being there was never a call made to shut down a country and put the entire population under house arrest because of flu. The ends justify the means they say but is it worth giving up essential liberty for temporary safety? If you answer yes then according to Benjamin Franklin you don't deserve liberty or safety.

True Mike, they have to keep the lie going to bring the change that's taking place so would mean those dying of actual Covid would be even less than .0022%. I'd like to know the world fatality rate because of China style covid restrictions for suicide, drug overdose, elderly people giving up will to live/neglect, undiagnosed illnesses, famine:Madagascar are having to mix white clay with tamarind for food because of drought plus covid travel restrictions. Livelihoods lost, late cancer screenings, mental health deterioration.. what is the long-term mortality rate going to be for these? There are GP's all over the world with same worry that they not seeing patients for necessary lifesaving treatments/diagnosis because of fear/travel and transport restrictions in rural areas. Is anybody recording these things? It's a fallen world and people die of natural causes but when there are man made causes it becomes more concerning and evil. Yes B. The church has lost its 'salt' and it is then good for nothing. This is why even governments clasify it as a none essential entity. All the charity work, (the good works we have been created in Christ Jesus to bear fruit with), education and social health support has been stripped from the hands of the church and placed in the hands of socialistic protocols of the state who can even dictate when and how the church can act, so the church is relagated to warm up high-maintenance complexs, and hollow, empty shell structures for three hours a week, cater for their own petty projects, and run their little amusing shows for Christmas, and similar occasions.

Questions: Of Covid deaths, how many due to Covid, and how many are Covid-related? (I'm sure there are others besides myself who know of incidents where totally non Covid connected deaths were officially labeled Covid)
Why are this seasons cases and deaths being added to last seasons? That isn't done with other viruses. They start over in the fall. Imagine what the numbers would be if every flu case was added to previous numbers.
Why do we never hear the recovery numbers?
The case count increases daily. Why are the number of new cases being added to cases that have recovered? Is anyone here who has had the flu in the past still considered a flu case today? Rhetorical questions. The only way to make the numbers more scary is to keep adding them to previous numbers, while ignoring the vast majority who recover, and are no longer rightly considered cases.

Chrisgp; The initial response by science and politics was panic. Hence reason for political “solutions” of lockdowns etc. This solution continues since the alternative would be seen as giving up and doing nothing. Politics or government is trying to be seen as trying to help solve the problem and help the people. Man is an argumentative animal with differing sides to all debates. The pandemic will never be solved by politics, of course. But politicians must get involved in the only way they know how.
This court action may have been taken out by Roman Catholics and Orthodox Jews, but this order means that Bible believing evangelical churches can meet as well. I do take the point, however, that perhaps, the truly biblical evangelical churches should have stood against this tyrant (Cuomo) and others like him by worshipping, illegally if necessary from day one. This COVID 19, though a real virus, that affects seriously a tiny number of people, has been a right scam. It is like flu, dangerous for a few, and infectious, but how have we dealt with the flu, for the past few decades. Ruining our economy? Compulsory mask wearing? Shutdowns? Lockdowns? Social distancing? Closing treatment for non-flu conditions? Draconian restrictions? Fines? Police? Quarantines? No, we have not.

It's not the domain of robed plutocrats to decide how God's elect worship. Frankly,I almost wish Christians would stop suing and just ignore the little pharoahs and caesars. It should be made very clear to them that we dont care what they say; our worship is not their domain and they have no jurisdiction over it.

Their permission from the reprobate secular courts means that ‘altar’. Worship can be maintained.
Sadly these religious organisations don’t know that according to GOD and His Son Jesus, the last altar was the cross used 2000 years ago.
But that’s alright with this fallen world. Their permission is provided.
