Vatican Kick-Starts Financial Overhaul, Pressed by Scandals, Deficit
Pope Francis has stepped up long-planned overhauls to the Vatican’s finances, after pressure from the pandemic and financial scandals that have battered the Catholic Church’s reputation.
The changes are relatively modest and come more than seven years after Pope Francis was elected with a mandate to reform the Vatican’s finances, following a series of scandals over alleged corruption and incompetence under his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI.
The pope this year centralized the management of investments previously handled by officials in different offices and made new rules on procurement to save money and prevent corruption. The Vatican has also become more forthcoming about its use of donations....
I will say that the Christian bookstore does give pictures of what you might be getting. I'm somewhat sorry I didn't spend 50 cents more and get the very latest version of ESV study Bible with simulated purple leather. but if you want a Bible that seems to have a huge amount of notes, the ESV Study Bible is probably the one. It is probably not Dispensational.
While Ryrie is a famous Dispensationalist I have not really seen that much in his Bible--at least in the notes to the various verses. I'm reading probably one of the first Ryrie Bibles out The Moody publication with the 1977 NASB, and I just read the sparse notes at the bottom of the pages which is not exactly the way you should do it. You should also follow the verse chains that are given. But fortunately I had a expositional pastor for many years, so I just don't feel like I need to go into that much detail. The NASB and like that ESV is a very literal Bible and in contemporary English so I just don't feel like I have to go past the notes that are on the bottom of the page. So, depends if you're looking for an highly detailed studied Bible such as the ESV one, or one that doesn't interfere with your flow of reading that much. The ESV Study Bible looks like it's going to be a very excellent reference book.
One thing you might check out is the NET Bible which is one of the best footnoted one of any round. In fact the way I understand it many people get the NET Bible for its footnotes rather than the main text â—
I just ordered a copy of the ESV study Bible from the Christian bookstore. They had a 55% clearance sale on it. Of course the price will also go up a little bit considering they tack on a $6 shipping charge and of course your sales tax they are very efficient I see.
I seriously doubt that the Bible will be the latest version of the ESV. It's not too important to me but it may be to any of you. I just wanted to copy of it without spending a whole bunch of money.
Of course if you can find it at lower price, or you may want to in different styles whatever you can look around on the internet. ðŸ‘

My favorite study Bible to recommend is the Life Application Study Bible from Tyndale House Publishers. Good notes and resources, definitely worth it.
If you are looking for nicely bound Bibles, Church Bible Publishers is fantastic. I have several of theirs, have not worn a binding out yet on any of them. Cheaper than a Cambridge too.
No, USA, even corrupt organizations like the Romans Church can have at least honest bookkeeping - - perhaps? I have often stated these views.

Gay M. Allen, I have heard very good things about the ESV study Bible. Unfortunately, I have never seen it as of yet. Another good study Bible would be the Charles Caldwell Ryrie Study Bible which can be had integrated into several different Bible versions.
