A fifth of Christians have skipped church during the pandemic
A significant proportion of Christians haven't attended a church service since the start of the pandemic, fresh research finds.

The study by Barna found that a fifth of practising Christians (19%) said they never attended a service during the pandemic, whether in person or online.

Similarly, just over a fifth (22%) of "churched" adults - classed by Barna as those who sometimes went to church - have not joined a service since the outbreak of coronavirus.

Both groups reported attending church at least once a month in the six months leading up to the pandemic. ...

Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.“

It’s a balancing act- my family has attended when the nation shut down, now attends in person. But when directly exposed to Covid, we go back to online services. Lubbock is a hot spot, to put it mildly. I have been exposed by students on numerous occasions. Truthfully, take your vitamins isn’t just for kids anymore.

A fifth of practicing Christians have not attended since it began. I wonder how much practice that takes to become good at it?

Wait until the tribulation begins, and then do your survey. In the UK there are plenty of silver slipper Christians who love BBQ's and having plenty of fun, mainly in the charismatic churches.

Not surprising, I don't know of many who would consider the church to be precious. I wonder if this same people also don't do any ministry, or support the church financially. The 2020 just made what was private, now public.
