Ballot Initiatives Could Tighten Abortion Laws in Colorado, Louisiana
Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the US Supreme Court has increased speculation that the right case could overturn Roe v. Wade. But states are not waiting for a high court ruling to pass their own restrictions on abortion.

Two states have ballot questions pertaining to abortion during this election season: Louisiana and Colorado. Though the legal landscape and public sentiment around abortion are vastly different in the two states, pro-life groups in each are hoping to provide further protection for the unborn.

Pro-life advocates in Louisiana aim to strengthen the state’s abortion regulations against further judicial scrutiny while those in Colorado hope voters will approve a move to restrict late-term abortions, a regulation the Democratic legislature has resisted. ...

More liberalism in future elections isn't going to help the Democrats.
Christian Paz wrote:
Liberals may accuse these Latinos of voting against their own interests, given Trump’s mishandling of the pandemic, attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and restrictions on immigration—all issues that affect millions of Latino lives. But many pro-Trump Latinos told me they simply define their interests differently than their more progressive cousins do. They don’t necessarily feel solidarity with Latinos as a whole, and many identify themselves as American first. (Some reject “Latino” or “Latinx” labels as well.) Many are lifelong Republicans not eager to abandon their party, and Trump’s economy-first message and opposition to abortion rights resonate with them. Democrats shouldn’t be surprised if Trump matches or improves on his 2016 showing among Latinos, or if their votes help him hold battleground states. Republican Latinos have always existed, and the Trump campaign has dedicated significant resources to winning over more of the Hispanic community this election cycle....

Thou shalt not kill.
(Exodus 20:13 KJV)

Not meaning any sort of creatures, for there are some to be killed for the food and nourishment of men, and others for their safety and preservation; but rational creatures, men, women, and children, any of the human species, of every age, sex, condition, or nation; no man has a right to take away his own life, or the life of another; by this law is forbidden suicide, or self-murder, parricide or murder of parents, homicide or the murder of man; yet killing of men in lawful war, or in defence of a man's self, when his own life is in danger, or the execution of malefactors by the hands or order of the civil magistrate, and killing a man at unawares, without any design, are not to be reckoned breaches of this law; but taking away the life of another through private malice and revenge, and even stabbing of a man's character, and so all things tending to or designed for the taking away of life, and all plots, conspiracies, and contrivances for that purpose, even all sinful anger, undue wrath and envy, rancour of all mind, all malice in thought, word, or deed, are contrary to this precept. To kill or not to kill?
That is the question.

To stop life after conception is done by killing the said life.

Now what is the quote “LAW” regarding that crime?

I'm sorry Jim, but your "logic" is full of holes. You're basically saying that establishing a law equals "Forcing morality down's people's throats." If we went by that rule of thumb, we would have a completely lawless society.

Ballot Initiatives Could Tighten Abortion Laws in Colorado, Louisiana

Now I praise the Lord when even one little innocent life is spared such a horrible death through legal means, but I would change the title of the article to say:

Ballot initiatives could tighten the murder of innocent babies in the womb.

It seems like every politician can find a moral ground by regulating murder or by giving lip service to murder instead of stopping it.

"When the life of the mother is truly threatened by her pregnancy, if both lives cannot simultaneously be saved, then saving the mother’s life must be the primary aim. If through our careful treatment of the mother’s illness the pre-born patient inadvertently dies or is injured, this is tragic and, if unintentional, is not unethical and is consistent with the pro-life ethic. But the intentional killing of an unborn baby by abortion is never necessary."

Jim, your concept of democracy deciding the ideals for society is really a form of mob rule. It is akin to the Tower of Babel and it will ultimately create chaos as the manipulators of public thinking drive the public toward the abyss of Marxism.

While you are right that law does not change people's hearts, it has some influence. For instance, most Americans opposed LGBT marriages up until the Supreme Court permitted them. We have a social theory that if the government permits it, it must be OK. If the government doesn't permit it, it must not be OK.

The Bible shows another paradyme. The Lord has established what is right and what is wrong. He will hold each individual and groups of people accountable to that standard. Seeing as He made us and not we ourselves (Psalm 100), we don't have the option to crowd-source our morality. Polls, like stargazing, may be entertaining, but they are no way to figure out right from wrong. Psalm 19 points us toward God's holy and inspired word for that.

Louisiana may place more restrictions on abortions, but I doubt that it's going to happen in Colorado. It'll be interesting see the voting results in both states.

Many here keeps forgetting that the majority in the industrialized world anyway, have a more liberal view on abortion than the Romish church has for instance. There is really a lot of turmoil happening in Poland for example.

ABC/wires wrote:
Organisers and the city of Warsaw said some 100,000 people took part, one of the largest protest gatherings in years, following a Constitutional Court ruling on October 22 that outlaws abortions due to foetal defects.

It ended the most common of the few legal grounds left for abortion in Poland and set the country further apart from Europe's mainstream....

excerpt from, "Large crowds turn out after more than a week of protests against Poland's strict new anti-abortion laws"

Forcing morality down's people's throats just isn't going to work ❗

While the recent confirmation is comforting in a sense, these kinds of actions have taken place for a long time and need to continue. Unless the Supreme Court establishes full rights of personhood for the unborn, states will have the right to regulate what the federal government does not. So it seems these efforts are incredibly necessary.

Meanwhile, the other side of the coin that a recent poster brought up is also necessary. Assisting individuals who became pregnant most likely thru sin to not sin further by murdering their child. As important as the first is, proclaiming the Lord Jesus and being His hands and feet can't take second stage.
