Nearly three-quarters of pastors concerned presidential election will impact churches: Barna
Nearly three of four pastors are concerned that the presidential election and its fallout will negatively impact their congregations, according to a newly reported study by the Barna Group.

Barna recently released the findings of week 18 of their Church Pulse leader survey, which drew from a poll of 475 Protestant pastors taken Sept. 24-28.

Since each week has a different total of respondents, the margin of error varies week to week, being between 4.77% to 7.65% depending on the sample taken. ...

As I understand it, it is not only the President and Vice President that are up for election, but all of the House of Representatives and one third of the Semate, as well as local governors, state senators, state representatives, mayors, school board members, even sheriffs and district attorneys, and some states have referendums on very contentious issues in that state. Biblical Christians should be aware of who they are voting for, and what they stand for. This election you have in November 3rd is vital, and be very careful to make sure that you either vote in person on the day, or personally take your completed absentee ballot (in Britain we call these “postal ballots”, but please don’t post them!!), but take them in person to your local election clerk. This election could very well decide whether you have a continuing republic that actually does work for the people, or whether you will have a full blown Marxist globalist UN puppet state, a kind of elective dictatorship, but geared so that a single party can stay in power indefinitely. Be prayerful and careful, and God bless and guide you. Your election will actually affect not only the USA, but countries like mine.

That's what I figured - another false-flag "dominionism" cry which has no validity. No, it is just a way to tell Christians to not use the moral guidelines of the Lord to view the world and those in it but the world's own pagan worldview. Perhaps the best response to that kind of suggestion is "Get thee beind me, Satan!"
Agree with you, Quiet Brother.

Dear Jim don’t you have CNN in Nebraska? Why don’t you post your comments on that site? They drink the Biden cool aid and you will fit right in. Sermon Audio is for God following sheep and the majority of your comments are 100% goat poop!

There are many problems in my own denomination ( SBC), 1. JD “skinny jean” Greear , seems willing to continue the apology tour with a change of name from Southern Baptist to Great Commision Baptist or whatever else will turn, probably “ turn off the lights, we’re done Baptist “. I am only convinced that this is about keeping people from leaving the church.
But I’m guessing when you’re on the run from a 170 year war to end slavery then you’re not about the Great commission. You’re making our Lord and Saviour a political pawn for the middle since the left and right have proven such wash out. He is not and you’ve been found wanting.

You do a good job of distracting from the subject, which is concern from pastors about the election affecting their churches. (Not a compliment, btw) I don’t see in there anyone trying to force anything on anybody. If there is, do point it out. Or, do what you usually do, pick up another pasture patty, and sling it against SA’s door.

John 18:36-37
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. Then Pilate said to him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice. ---ESV

https://tinyurl.com/y576t94t (Should Christians try to force the kingdom on others?)

While the above verses are used by those who want to point out the error of trying to have a theocracy, these will do well also---

Romans 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.---ESV

Bud Brown does a good job of pointing out the nonsense of Dominionists❗👎

Maybe. But then Buster Brown is white, and that would make him racist in Jim’s racist imagination.

Why, Jim, I thought you were in favor of political activism by Christians. How does the following sound for a national policy?
2 Chronicles 15:12-13
12   And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
13   That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

Great question, Brother John. Wish I knew. It seems like they are being used as a tool to try to either explain what most people are thinking or try to get most people to think a particular way.

Jim, can you define what a "Gospel misson" is? I breezed your post, more than my usual, and came away confused. It seems like you believe that the laws of our land should be based on a different set of morals than the Lord presents thru His word. Legal code is always based on some concept of right and wrong, whether that's defining an action as criminal or directing an agency to take a particular action. When this nation was founded, most laws had some basis in the Bible. You seem to have a problem with Biblical morality as if goodness just springs up from the ground for all to find and agree upon. Post-Fall, there are a lot of thorns and thistles rather than pure goodness. So what does that term really mean?

Political causes use law to carry out a gospel mission.

I suspect I get the greatest pushback on this point.

When I look back over the running, rear guard action in the church/culture engagement, I can't help but notice something that doomed the Moral Majority enterprise from the start. It was an effort to make a godly nation of godly people by electing people who would pass and enforce the right laws.

Christian political activists,...share alike in one deadly fault: they would use the force of law to create a just society populated by a moral people.

This is a fool's errand.

Law cannot make people or nations good. Only grace can do this.

Interim Pastors are in the business of returning churches to the ministry of grace in a world in dreadful need.
