John MacArthur Sunday service: 'Welcome' to the 'peaceful protest'
Pastor John MacArthur, whose California church is holding in-person services in violation of the state’s COVID-19 health orders, opened his most recent sermon by welcoming his congregation to "the Grace Community Church peaceful protest.”

"Good morning, everyone. I'm so happy to welcome you to the Grace Community Church peaceful protest,” MacArthur, senior pastor of Grace Community Church, a megachurch in Sun Valley, California, said Sunday morning, drawing cheers and applause from worshipers.

MacArthur went on to explain that, “based on the Word of God,” his church is “pro-life, pro-family, pro-law and order, and pro-church of the Lord Jesus Christ.” ...

I may not agree with every aspect of his theology, but he certainly believes the vital doctrines, and the uniqueness of Christ and the necessity of salvation, the new birth and sanctification, as well as the 5 solas of the Reformation.
Yes brother I agree with you. MacArthur like all of us has some unusual views, but I have learned as much through this man as from anyone else. His books on Lordship salvation were outstanding.

I consider his view on someone taking the mark and then coming to Christ is wrong. But, then I believe that no Christian will take the mark, so even that is not a big deal.

I believe his commentary on Christ's blood is an unhealthy discussion, but I agree with him.

Jim, accepting Christ means saying yes to him. If his commands clash with the governments, we must obey him.

Jim Lincoln from Nebraska writes:
No, some church pastors are not confused but greedy.

Correction Mr. Lincoln, I believe Scripture calls such men hirelings, not pastors. Those are the type who are to cowardly to obey and honor the Lord when they face human opposition. Their hearts are like the stony ground in Christ's parable. They wither when persecution comes.

Agreed. But when the governors say "don't" it's because they don't want to take the risk that the end of the world didn't happen. So it follows that it's the governors who really don't want Christians to accept the consequences of their behavior.

I would say that one principle that I'd like Christians to remember is that the New Testament, and for that matter the entire Bible, is really a call to relinquish rights, to sacrifice oneself, to recognize Jesus is Lord and not to protest for our own rights. And so if there's a place for legitimate civil disobedience, it would probably involve that sort of self-sacrificial thinking, that sort of love for one's neighbor, that sort of Jesus-focused ethic, rather than simply standing on what we might perceive as our constitutional rights.

Now how to apply that is something on which Christians might disagree. And I think those disagreements are areas where we could have grace-filled productive dialogue—not being afraid to express our own opinions, but at the same time, recognizing that we may easily be colored by our thinking or our own background. None of us read the Bible or act strictly in a vacuum controlled only by the Holy Spirit. We are always subject to our own biases, our own influences, and preconceptions.

Why the smiley faces, Jim? Oh, I get it. The mask is finally completely off. You don’t want any religion; no First Amendment. You don’t want citizens to own guns; no Second Amendment. And the last thing on earth you want is “the American way if life”; no Constitution, no freedom, no anything but absolute tyranny.

“I believe Joe Biden is ‘Sleepy’ and ‘weak.’ I believe Biden could ‘hurt God’ and the Bible,” wrote Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and a vocal critic of the president from the right for years. “I believe that if Biden is elected, there will be ‘no religion, no anything,’ and he would confiscate all guns, ‘immediately and without notice.’ He would ‘abolish’ ‘our great,’ ‘beautiful suburbs,’ not to mention ‘the American way of life.’ There would be ‘no windows, no nothing’ in buildings.”---George Conway.

I am into conspiracy theories and I like yours. We will never know for sure about politics and this pandemic. I have written several times that all the democrats want is a black female for president and this is by far the best way to get one. Get ready to pay for what our great, great grandparents did.

Biden is senile; he knows it and they know it. But we have a different country now.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some. But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity." - 2 Timothy 2:15-19

As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. - Titus 3:10-11

Jim, I hope you realize that there is an all knowing God that watches over His creation and will administer judgment to all those who do not belong to His Son. Your trollish behavior is very telling to all of us. My guess is you are getting paid for what you do; otherwise you wouldn’t be so consistent and persistent.

Repent Jim and throw yourself at the mercy of our Lord.

There is a reason why no one on this forum believes you are saved.

Jesus Would Not Be a Republican

We can say with equal certainty that Jesus would not be a card-carrying member of the Republican Party. The Grand Old Party may share many values that can be traced back to the Bible, but it is still the GOP, not the GOD party. Because the party is run by corrupt man, a perfect and Holy God would never lend His credibility to that or any other earthly organization.

The Republican Party has been branded by the Democrats to be the “party of greed.” This label is not stamped without a degree of legitimacy. Man is a greedy being in his fallen state. Politicians within both major parties use the love of money to step on the backs of those they are supposed to serve. There are few innocent of power-grabbing for riches within the American political process.

When it gets down to the bare facts, the only advantage the Republican Party offers is that it is the lesser of two evils....[not anymore it isn't ❗👎]

Jim, you are not listening. The Coronavirus is not a problem for the church. We need heed immunity, and the governor is abusing his position. The church needs to speak out against such obvious attacks on religious liberty.
