Federal Officers, Protesters Clash in Violent Weekend Across US
Protests took a violent turn in several U.S. cities over the weekend with demonstrators squaring off against federal agents outside a courthouse in Portland, Oregon, forcing police in Seattle to retreat into a station house and setting fire to vehicles in California and Virginia.
A protest against police violence in Austin, Texas, turned deadly when police said a protester was shot and killed by a person who drove through a crowd of marchers. And someone was shot and wounded in Aurora, Colorado, after a car drove through a protest there, authorities said.
The unrest Saturday and early Sunday stemmed from the weeks of protests over racial injustice and the police treatment of people of color that flared up after the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Floyd, who was Black and handcuffed, died after a white police officer used his knee to pin down Floyd's neck for nearly eight minutes...
Jim. Why is there an anonymous federal presence? Is it because the agents are evil? Are they kidnapping and waterboarding protesters? Or is it because ANTIFA has ensured that the agents are Doxed and have people lashing out at the families of the agents while they are serving? If I was in charge, I would have the personnel under my command hide their name tags as well. (Of course, here in good old Missouri, we have less ANTIFA presence‚ÄĒeven liberal Democrat lawyers have their guns out protecting their homes. Lol)
Absolutely Frank, the leftist media have become good at creating false yet crafty narratives with the intention to mislead all from the truth. Since there is no accountability for their lies...they continue on
The areas where these protest are happening have weakened the ability of the local militia to protect in gun restrictions and they have bound the hands of the police to enforce so it falls upon the next line of defense the federal intervention.
It was recently recalled that when the Berkely "protests" happened President Reagen sent in tanks...maybe they would prefer those to human bodies that are being sent currently...
Portland is an Antifa hotbed, stoked by years of Marxist indoc in institutions that supposedly provide a "higher education." At some point, what starts as protests and riots turns into insurrection. The President thinks this has surpassed the point of protected protest and entered the realm of rebellion. If we were to hold a completely peaceful Gospel proclaiming march thru San Francisco, would we not expect the same treatment from local and state authorities? Yet the destruction of public and private property and attacks on public and private citizens is supposedly protected? Not in this land and certainly not if common sense holds. The government weilds the sword for a reason.

Recall that some of the protests in the wake of Floyd‚Äôs death swung out of control in large part because of ill-considered police actions. This anonymized deployment risks compounding that problem. Because if, as Oregon‚Äôs attorney general hypothesizes, a protester ‚ÄĚconfronted by anonymous men in military-type fatigues and ordered into an unmarked van‚ÄĚ were to ‚Äúreasonably assume that he is being kidnapped and is the victim of a crime,‚ÄĚ he might plausibly resort to violence in self-defense. This may be a particular risk if the person in question happens to be suspicious of police authority in the first place. And the risk may be further heightened by the fact that various militia groups have been known to organize armed groups in defense of supposed law-enforcement interests. Ambiguity about an officer‚Äôs identity or power to make an arrest serves the interests of neither law enforcement nor protesters....

When rioters physically attack cops, and you are stupid enough to side with the rioters, then whether you yourself throw a brick or not, sooner or later there’s a good chance you’re going to get beat down. Duh. The way to avoid that is to protest the way Jim Lincoln does it. Stay home and lob marshmallows via the Internet.
