Chicago Threatens to Bulldoze Churches, Lawyer Says
The lawyer representing two churches in Chicago fighting the city’s coronavirus guidelines said he never thought he’d see the day when city leaders would threaten to bulldoze a church for allowing its congregation to worship.
That day has arrived.
Matt Staver, the founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, said Wednesday that churches that he represents have received letters from the city‚Äôs Board of Health that declared them ‚Äúpublic nuisances.‚ÄĚ The term may not seem like much on the surface, but he said, legally, it opens up these churches to a lot of problems. Staver read the letter on air that said the department ‚Äúhas the power and duty to cause all nuisances affecting the health of the public to be abated.‚ÄĚ Staver said the letter threatened a ‚Äúsummary abatement,‚ÄĚ which is legalese for the destruction of the facility without any judicial process or further notice....

It's Jim's way of not dealing with any issues brought up. Liberals don't seem to have their own thoughts, but like parrots, repeat what they hear. Sad when you think about it.

Unlike the rioters, looters and protesters, who are not a problem in spreading disease. Right, Jim? And the mayor of Chicago? Yes she's the one who closed hairdresser shops, except she went to get her hair done during the closings, because her hair look is essential.
As long as there are exaggerations, lies and hypocrisy, defiance in the face of it is a good thing.

The battle over whether to reopen churches escalated Friday when President Donald Trump deemed all places of worship ‚Äúessential‚ÄĚ and called on state leaders to allow services. These cults have certain rights just like Christians and other religions do, but their right end at spreading disease. The government certainly could block access, without tearing any buildings down
Well said, Chrisgp. If you want to know what is really happening in America, Google ‚ÄúThe Naked Communist‚ÄĚ and see how far the marxists have come toward achieving the goals they set in the early 1960s.
It seems that these authoritarian dictatorial leftist governors and mayors such as Lori Lightfoot, Andrew Cuomo, Bill deBlasio, Gavin Newsom, Pritzker, (forgotten his first name), Gretchen Whitmer, and Dr Northam amongst others have completely decided, while supporting BLM riotous protests which defy ‚Äúsocial distancing‚ÄĚ and all the arbitrary rules they themselves have put in place against COVID 19 spread, demanding the disbandment of the police, and established law and order, while at the same time releasing criminals from prisons, filling them again with ordinary citizens who operate their businesses to make a living, and who are not wearing a mask when outside their home, bankrupting their economy with extensive lockdowns and shutdowns by executive orders, that churches are a special target of their venom, and similarly to their Communist Marxist friends in China, Venezuela, and even in Europe, they must be marked out, closed down and persecuted at all costs. Even in the rare cases that churches can meet, they must be totally humiliated with strict provisions, extreme physical distancing, disinfecting, masks for all, no singing, no communion, no baptisms, no weddings, no social fellowship at all. Welcome to the USSR in the West, to China in the West, etc.
Unfortunately, part of the submission that many churches in many countries have now, is that they must wear masks during services, but despite having to wear them, in many cases, singing, a vital part of public worship is banned as well. In England (though compulsory on public transport since June 15, and now in shops from July 23, they are only recommended but not mandatory in churches), many church authorities have made them mandatory for in person services, whilst yet at the same time by government order singing is banned, (slightly revised that a choir or ‚Äúprofessional singers‚ÄĚ, but not a whole congregation, may sing outside, or a single cantor, soloist or singer inside behind a flexible-glass plastic screen!! ).
This has reached ridiculous proportions with the famous church whose live-streams I listen to with two ‚Äúlive‚ÄĚ congregations, an at present masked congregation forbidden to sing, who can only read the hymns mentally in paper hymn sheets to take away, and an invisible ‚Äúrecorded congregation‚ÄĚ from pre-Covid19 days, that sings the recorded hymns at the same time!! I am glad I cannot see the humiliated masked congregation, but only hear the ‚Äúinvisible‚ÄĚ one!
Thanks, 'ladybug' for the OSHA posting. I think at one of those news conferences it was mentioned that masks do not protect the user from getting the virus. But a lot of info is flying around, and recently I saw somewhere, maybe WebMD, that say it reduces chance of getting the virus by 65 percent. Another place said that beards work against masks working well, that they prevent the sealing of the area around the mouth. What we need is more info about the dangers of wearing a mask, like breathing in your own CO2. But little matters when few people are wearing masks, and I think that is what explains the recent increase of cases in Florida. It's hot, it's summer, and people wnat to be out playing racquetball, tennis, basketball, going to the pool, beach, etc, and masks just don't work for them. I just heard that pools are not safe because the chlorine reduces your immune system's resistance and makes it easier for you to get the virus from another person at the pool, If they check the temperature of each person, that would be OK, but then, another report says that 'seasoned citizens' do not get a high temp. when they get the virus. It's like the experts telling people to get out and walk, then tell us...no, don't go out because the mask won't protect you. So...just walk in

I agree with the above. If you need help with it, let me know. Yes, if we are born again from above, proof of that will always be evident. Christ is not a vaccine that you can take when you feel you need Him.

By the way, lessons from history:
Becky Little wrote: .... Yet even though compliance was high, some complained that the masks were uncomfortable, ineffective or bad for business. Officials were caught in public without masks. And after the war ended, and there was no longer a sense that people should wear masks to keep the troops safe, some dissenters even formed an ‚ÄúAnti-Mask League‚ÄĚ in San Francisco....

Eph 4:17 .... walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness."
Jim Lincoln wrote: As a famous person from Springfield Illinois said,
Yes Jim; what we listen to and how we listen are very important. You should have adhered to the following:
Luke 8:16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth [it] under a bed; but setteth [it] on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. 17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither [any thing] hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. 18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.
Mark 4:21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
As I already told you, I don't know if they'll even be fined. As I said that Eastern European block of citizens in Chicago are a potent political force especially for the Democrats. They'll probably be told not to do that anymore and It will be as far as it'll go.
But, just like in the Southern states, the virus itself will punish foolish behavior
Jim Lincoln wrote: --- It is utter nonsense that any churches would be torn down. The folks from Eastern Europe have a powerful sway in Chicago politics. It's also hard to fine a group if their meeting houses torn down ---
No need to tear them down when you can close them for "public health" reasons. Same effect. You won't object to that, will you Jim?
