Cornerstone Church Atlanta votes to leave SBC
Pastor John Onwuchekwa, lead pastor of the diverse but predominantly black Cornerstone Church Atlanta, announced Friday that his congregation has voted to leave the Southern Baptist Convention, hinting at racial concerns with the world’s largest Baptist denomination.

“On Sunday we voted as a church to leave the SBC. I don't say this for applause (there's nothing particularly commendable about our decision). I only mention it to bring clarity surrounding where (and with whom) we stand in days like this. Frankly, we should've done it sooner,” Onwuchekwa wrote in a series of tweets last Friday. ...

Both are the major parts of shoulder workout and a href="https://makepersonality.com/shoulder-workout/" shoulder workout /a about both of these. The big arms are great. A big chest is cute.

But without a good set of delta to close the gap, everything is for nothing. You have to love glamour muscles.

The SBC is heading to release itself from the name Southern. And JD Greer is just the man to lead us back into that wonderful wilderness called the - Baptist - the former denomination headed history.,, desolate.

""I only mention it to bring clarity surrounding where (and with whom) we stand in days like this.""

I thought all Christians stood with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

1Cor 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect."

Jim; Your decsional regeneration didn’t remove your spiritual heart of stone away. You could be Rebaptized weekly it wouldn’t matter.

You are still dead spiritually in your trespasses & sin & a enemy of Christ & His Cross!

You never speak of how the Law of God slained your thought process when you saw how corrupted you were apart from Christ Alone. You speak nothing of God’s Hoilness or having a Godly fear of God.

You are devoid of knowing of why others weep when they reflect on the goodness of the Lord through His utter amazing Grace to one, to bring one from rebel & tyrant, too welcoming friend amen!

Spurgeon; If the man doesn’t live differently from what he did before, both at home & abroad, his repentance needs to be repented of, and his conversion is a fiction!

I’ll go a step further, Mike, and say bluntly that most of the people continuing to stir up racial tensions long after most others have forgotten about them are black. People like Al Not-So-Sharpton and Louis Unfairakkan. Some, like Sharpton, do it strictly for profit, and others do it because it’s easier and far more convenient to be bitter against someone else than to accept the blame for their own failure in life.

So Jim, do you think someone who has nothing to do with anything that happened so far in the past that even their grandparents weren't born yet, should feel guilty about it, and do something about it? Yes or no would suffice.

Before I read it, I thought it might be about weakness in the area of biblical understanding on the part of the SBC, but it's about skin color. Again.

'So, that they thought rebaptism was unacceptable. Well, that's another confusing thing. People ask me about that all the time: "I as baptized once as a baby; do I need to be rebaptized?" Answer: if you weren't baptized the biblical way, you'd better be baptized the biblical way. John the Baptist's disciples showed up in Acts 19; the apostles said to them, "Have you heard of the Messiah?" etc....they said, "We don't know anything about that. We were baptized with John's baptism." They didn't say, "Oh well, that's sufficient." They said, "Then you need to hear the truth about Messiah..." They heard the truth and they were baptized the right way. Well, more later...

'Baptism is a command. It is the purpose of God. It is the command of Christ. And, if you say, "No!" it can't be ignorance; we've eliminated that category, if you were listening. Pride, indifference, defiance, or you're not a Christian. Jesus said, "How can you say, "Lord, Lord!" and do not the things I say?" Jesus said, "If you love me," you'll what? "Keep my commandments." Don't bring yourself under God's chastening because of disobedience in this most simple act of obedience, which will bring upon you God's favor and your own joy. ' ---John MacArthur

Departure from any denomination is a step in the biblical direction, and independency of churches, known as autonomy, is the way forward. For this church, one down, ninety nine to go.

Tom Gjelten wrote:
The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in the United States, came into being in 1845 as the church of Southern slaveholders.

Now, 173 years later, Southern Baptist leaders are not just acknowledging their dark history; they are documenting it, as if by telling the story in wrenching detail, they may finally be freed of its taint.

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the denomination's flagship institution, this week [December 18, 2018] released a 71-page report on the role that racism and support for slavery played in its origin and growth.

"The founding fathers of this school — all four of them — were deeply involved in slavery and deeply complicit in the defense of slavery," writes school President R. Albert Mohler Jr., in a letter accompanying the report. "Many of their successors on this faculty, throughout the period of Reconstruction and well into the 20th century, advocated the inferiority of African-Americans and openly embraced the ideology of the Lost Cause of southern slavery."...

The above NPR article is quite interesting and informative
