6 out of 10 Americans reject idea that 'human life is sacred'
The recently launched Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University released a report on Tuesday examining how Americans value human life.

Data for the report came from a survey conducted in January of 2,000 adult respondents in the United States, 1,000 of whom were contacted by telephone and 1,000 reached by online questionnaires. The data has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.

Among respondents, only 39% said they agreed with the statement: “human life is sacred.”

The word “sacred” is defined by the researchers as “having unconditional, intrinsic worth.” ...

So true .. The 2 main metaphors in the N.T a father and a nurse. The old fashioned way christian ethics, prayer.
But i assume this artical is relating to the humanists ideal. The Hypocrite Who did they ring were they lucky and rang 39 percent christians.. Killing unborn babies , killing those who are unsatisfied with their present life. And taking a vaccine to save humanity.

There are plenty of christian who think all these are permitted in a certain frame.Like missionary today the new Gosple is food human food sacred life is human then tell them about Jesus.. food is god .. In my view this is what the artical is really refering too.
Since 1900 Rockefeller took over medicine and changed the idea. Drugs would be the way to help man. The side affect they dont care. The real care the body has a soul.. They belong to The Creator . Its the Temple of GOD.

Maybe the question was too religious for people to say yes. They might have done well to pair it with the question, do you believe in God? (of course, that leaves the door wide open to what God do they believe in. Even Paul said some people in his day had made their stomachs their lives, which is a lot like many people today called 'foodies' who think nothing more than about food).
I don't think people think human life is worthless, which some people might think their answer means.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Soul equals:

1.that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man
2.living being
3.living being (with life in the blood)

From Dictionary.com:
SACRED:-
1. devoted or dedicated to a deity or to some religious purpose; consecrated.

2. entitled to veneration or religious respect by association with divinity or divine things; holy.

3. pertaining to or connected with religion (opposed to secular or profane):

4. reverently dedicated to some person, purpose, or object:

5. regarded with reverence:

6. secured against violation, infringement"

Question, 'Who makes a human life sacred'?

= Humans can't.

= God is sending most of them to hell.
Would HE make that which HE sends to hell - Sacred???

Is this sacred? -
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Yes John, that is the way it should be. Then that would drive believers to share the gospel with the lost.

Amen Nick, it has to start there.

The two motivational verses which heavily influenced me and encouraged me to evangelise are:

2 Corinthians 5:11a KJV
(11)  Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;

2 Corinthians 5:14a KJV
(14)  For the love of Christ constraineth us;

On the one hand the justice and wrath of God, and on the other hand the amazing love of Christ, both of which together tend towards an evangelistic effort to see men, women and children with intrinsic worth saved, and in their right mind.

The fullness of the Spirit produces all these motivations, so that we go forth with joy, serving the Lord with great gladness and expectancy.

Proves that the majority either was directly involved in the ending of life or played a role in its encouragement and/or approval. Their minds have been seared and calloused.

This your quote Jim from Lincoln, show where MLK stated he thought that healthcare was a civil right. The full actual quote will follow so you can get it right.  Remember it is not what the author of your article thinks or what anybody else thinks, Jim from Lincoln show where MLK advocates government providing healthcare or even speaks about healthcare .

“We are concerned about the constant use of federal funds to support this most notorious expression of segregation. Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and the most inhuman because it often results in physical death.“I see no alternative to direct action and creative nonviolence to raise the conscience of the nation.”

On civil rights

The most common legal application of the term civil rights involves the rights guaranteed to U.S. citizens and residents by legislation and by the Constitution.

To keep you busy before you put up more liberal nonsense, take the time to show us where the Constitution guarantees health care for its citizens

Are we not surprised. If Supreme Court justices could be given a 15 year tenure then go to leave- that would probably have a benefit. If they were answerable to senatorial review- so much the better.
We have sold 3 generations they can kill a baby in the womb. And now Covid biggest uptick is by the “ wonderful “ whiny , spoiled, reckless and hapless
Millennials. It is no wonder, no one from the chaotic mobs to a group of democratic senators have no value of human life. No surprise, Roe v Wade was the cherry on top

don't trust the survey...

The words "online questionnaire" let you know it's far from accurate.

We probably are better off than you think.

Good point. Most pro abortion people are glad to not be aborted. They want themselves to be happy, not their children

The survey question was the wrong one to ask. It should have been, "Do you consider YOUR life as sacred, as having intrinsic value?" The results would have been different. The death culture has no problem killing people at either end of the age spectrum, but is itself fearful of death, since it does not believe life is created.

So Jim, when what you call a “protester” (and what I call a criminal) hurts himself pulling down a statue, I should help pay for his ER visit? I don’t think so.

Rom 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.“

That all life is sacred isn’t an idea, it’s a fact. Not a chance happening but a creative. That all life is “fed and watered by God’s Almighty hand” is undeniable, a fact that is seen in our breakfasts, dinners and teas. Praise the Lord O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Wouldn't it be nice if all of us Christians were to consider the lives of all others as “having unconditional, intrinsic worth.”?

Unfortunately, that aspect of the Christian way seems to have been lost, and without a lot of soul-searching, Bible study, and genuine repentance, it is likely to remain that way.
