U.S. Senate Chaplain Asks God to 'Inoculate Our Nation against Hate, Sin and Despair'
he U.S. Senate chaplain asked God to âinoculate our nation against hate, sin and despairâ in a prayer Monday that referenced the death of George Floyd, the ongoing protests and the coronavirus pandemic.
Barry C. Black, who has served as chaplain since 2003 and is respected by both sides of the aisle, delivered the prayer at the beginning of Mondayâs Senate session.
âEternal God, who has placed our tears in a bottle, today, we weep,â Black prayed. âWe weep because every death diminishes us. We weep because of the grief of George Floyd's family. We weep because of the explosive impact of deferred dreams. We weep because of the potentially catastrophic consequences of peaceful protesting during a pandemic.
âWe weep because justice delayed is justice denied. We weep because of the paralysis of analysis that often impedes Your prevailing providence. We weep because of our personal culpability...
"When God withholds the sweet manifestations of His favor, He does not look with such a pleasant aspect âbut veils His face, and seems to be quite gone from the soul. God is just in all His withdrawings. We desert Him before He deserts us. We desert Godâwhen we leave off close communion with Him; when we desert His truths and dare not appear for Him; when we leave the guidance and conduct of His word, and follow the deceitful light of our own corrupt affections and passions. We desert God first; therefore we have none to blame but ourselves. Desertion is very sad, for as when the light is withdrawn, darkness follows in the airâso when God withdraws, there is darkness and sorrow in the soul." (Thomas Watson)(All Things for Good)
Anony, there are many videos of Biden displaying very disturbing behavior that would seem to seriously indicate him being a pedophile. As well as many many witnesses. As to what it had to do with here, they are citing that Biden is NOT a credible witness when it comes to morality at all. Furthermore it has the same import as many of the comments that have been lposted against Trump

Watchman, You should be guard your tongue. This is very serious calling Biden a pedophile. You should be ashamed believing something you were not party in a situation this serious. If you're sure of this, then where are the two witnesses you need. And how does this edify the body of Christ, especially on this board? SHAME ON YOU!
The only thing that matters to Jim is the political party to which someone belongs. That's why he can quote an active anti-Christian like Biden criticizing Trump for not reading the Bible, and not see it as being a problem.
I really believe that former Vice-President Biden in your post is the pot calling the kettle black. What Biden believes about abortion, LGBTQRST123++++, climate change, etc... is so unbiblical (or anti-biblical) that he really should wipe his windshield. President Trump is not a model of Biblical Christianity by any means,( and keep in mind, we donât know exactly what President Trump was thinking or implying when he did this) but Biden is worse...

So we have trump who clearly is not a christian as he say this himself though he like to take communion..We pray so him to be saved. Then on the other hand we have biden who many have shown he is clear pedophile like helliwood actors.. We call this demon ocrasy... Its the same bird all over the world.. Jesuit control. How does 3 girl who go too college togeather and are friends end up all becoming leader's of 3 different countrys. Bizzar?? Or planned.. HoseaHosea 8:4 [4]They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
One thing these demonstrations and riots have proven is if the police force canât stop riots and and destruction then by all means- go to church and if you are fined, determine if it is within your means to pay, but it not , be guided to do as led. If jailed , go , unless you require sanctuary. If you are forcefully arrested, make sure itâs videotaped.
Rioters and looters will be given a free pass, and thus, anyone entering a place of worship , it should be an act as a gracious call of peace and not violence to heal our land.

I could be wrong but it may be the latter if you can call the ministers that God has appointed "stupid cowards" as if Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2:13-17 were never given to us. There is already a huge lack of respect for authority which is part of the problems we are seeing and your comment adds to the problem. Please don't take offence, brother. This may just be a blind spot of which I'm sure I have many.
Furthermore, we weep because people think that the president is on God's side by holding up his, Trump's, talisman. I wonder if he rubbed it real good. God has been profaned at every level of our government and our country. The real coward was the official who simply "fired" the officers involved in murder. Romans 13 tells us that these officials are to keep the wicked in line because they are lawless and unruly. However, we have One to rule over the believer. He is LORD! His name is Jesus. He causes his character to shine forth in us in order to draw men unto himself. The police and many elected officials don't see Christ in his church, his Body.
""The U.S. Senate chaplain asked God to âinoculate our nation against hate, sin and despairâ in a prayer Monday""
Why not just ask the Lord to - "inoculate the nation against everybody"
We are all sinners in despair - only the real Christian believers are aware of that.
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
"Inoculate" with this truth!! Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Most of all we weep because God has, for the most part, been abandoned in our land and we are seeing His righteous hand of judgment.

For a fellow who likes to read stuff on the Internet, Jim, you sure donât like to get the facts. If you did youâd know that Park Police didnât even know the president was going to the church, and their pushing back the protesters had nothing to do with his visit to St Johnâs. But hey, why let a little thing like the truth ruin a chance to criticize Mr. Trump? Like the devil, the liberal media didnât just start lying this week.

Whatever that means. Anyway your link said there is a constitutional right to protest. Since protesters can rightfully protest in big crowds without safe distancing because it's their right, then where is your link promoting the same.about churches gathering for their peaceful purposes? You certainly posted plenty about how irresponsible it was to do so. But then I remember hypocrisy is strong in left world, where everything is politically motivated and agenda-driven.
Alden McLaughlin wrote: Sasse issued a statement Tuesday, obtained by the National Review, that expressed opposition to âclearing out a peaceful protest for a photo op that treats the Word of God as a political prop.â Read the full statement here:
There is no right to riot, no right to destroy othersâ property, and no right to throw rocks at police. But there is a fundamental â a Constitutional â right to protest, and Iâm against clearing out a peaceful protest for a photo op that treats the Word of God as a political prop. Every public servant in America should be lowering the temperature and that means saying two basic truths over and over: (1) police injustice â like the evil murder of George Floyd â is repugnant and merits peaceful protest aimed at change; (2) riots are abhorrent acts of violence that hurt the innocent. Say both things loudly and repeatedly, as Americans work to end the violence and injustice.
