'Bet you stay home now you hypokrits': Miss. church destroyed in suspected arson attack
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves responded to the church fire on Twitter Thursday, saying he was âheartbroken and furious.â
I am heartbroken and furious. In Mississippi, a church was just burned to the ground. They had been trying to open services. There was graffiti on the lot which read âBet you stay home now you hypocrites.â
What is this pandemic doing to us? We need prayer for this country.
I'm sorry, Dr. Tim. I tried to respond earlier but my comment was lost somehow. May the Lord heal these wounds. Is there any word, Brother, on your relative who was in trouble?
The Quiet Christian wrote: âDr. Tim has apparently gotten so annoyed that he is responding as the Lord did when responding to Satan...using only Scripture.â As exasperating as Mr. Lincoln can be, QC, he is not the reason I have refrained from commenting on the articles on SA. Instead, it is because of persistent false accusations by two other people on this forum.
Welcome, No name, to this forum. Several of us have asked about Jim from Lincoln, NE, and the best advice we got back from the moderator is to ignore him. A Brother in Christ from Scotland once properly determined that Jim is really just looking for attention, and will stir up whatever trouble to receive it.
Other forums and social media outlets would have banned him. SA, it their credit, has shown much grace in allowing him to continue apparently for years. Many of us have witnessed to him and prayed for him over the years, some long before I showed up here. Dr. Tim has apparently gotten so annoyed that he is responding as the Lord did when responding to Satan...using only Scripture. SA has upon occasion deleted Jim's posts when he goes too far afield. But in general, he gives us an opportunity to best explain our positions rather than just when each otger to death.
As horrendous as this arson is, how the church responds is more important. I would commend to them the example of SA in dealing with Jim. Grace is important, even toward rebels. We all were once rebels, but the Lord made us His own through His gentle wooing and the Holy Spirit's work in our hearts. We all were once dead in trespasses and sins, but now are alive in Christ Jesus, by grace through faith and that a

Thank You precious Lord that Your Truth through the Spirit removing Stoney ground allows Your precious truth to fall on good soil. As Your word isnât quarantined, nor is Jesus being in the business of seeking & reconciling sinners to Himself. Thank You Lord for grace & mercies given to Your undeserving people amen!
Jhn 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, âI am the light of the world. He who follows Me shallnât walk in darkness, but have the light of life.â
Jhn 8:24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you donât believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.â
Jhn 8:47 He who is of God hears Godâs words; therefore you donât hear, because you arenât of God.â
Mike, there certainly are White churches and Black churchesâđ Now, the Pentecostal church mentioned in the article like many Pentecostal churches are an exception to the rule and are more integrated. This is one of the few good things I can say about them, they also have more women preachers. See a history about the movement:

But even White Methodists from my memory sometimes have a problem.

But, Mike, apparently you are going to agree with our Black Evangelical brothers, and - -

Black church, white church. Are those in the Bible? Perhaps the 8th and 9th churches of Revelation? Who knows, maybe skin color counts as we travel the narrow road.
This is an interesting case of arson, and who knows the real reason why they did it, yet

Wasn't done for the purpose that was first proposedâ
So the burning of this white church, may not have been done for what was stated for either. If it was, it certainly didn't workđ
"Church members hugged and cried in the parking lot as investigators sifted through the rubble for clues to figure out who might be responsible." From the SA article.
If any member of this church has covid-19 , or gets it in the future; it looks like the whole congregation will come down with it.
This is sad news. Here in Italy, the Catholic church received permission to re-open. We Protestants however, are still waiting for "Grande Fratello" to allow us back in our church buildings. This is just my humble opinion. The lockdown will be made into a loaded gun. Which in turn, will be pointed at the church.
