Dershowitz: State has right to 'plunge a needle into your arm'
Harvard Law School emeritus professor Alan Dershowitz claimed in an interview that the government has a constitutional right under the 10th Amendment to forcibly vaccinate a citizen to curb the spread of a contagious disease.

"Let me put it very clearly, you have no constitutional right to endanger the public and spread the disease, even if you disagree. You have no right not to be vaccinated, you have no right not to wear a mask, you have no right to open up your business," he said.

The interviewer, Jason Goodman, interjected, asking if the famed constitutional scholar was saying that if the government decides "you have to be vaccinated, we have to be vaccinated." ...

Also please note I was responding to John's hypothetical situation.  Unless I was sick with the coronavirus I most likely would not take any vaccine they developed for it.

Hey your jokes are getting better!

Now I have to leave you to it, while I prepare the popcorn, oat cakes, Welsh cakes, and a big mug of Cadbury's High Light, which is a posh name for Hot Chocolate. Research requires a lot of energy, so I will also have TicTacs on hand.

But in God's sovereignty I post what I post and there is no stopping it.

In half an hour I am doing some research into the life of King George III. Sounds good, eh? Well, actually I am about to watch a documentary on the TV!

(1) Adriel, you went to all that trouble simply to prove yourself biblical in using the word 'story'?

(2) Well okay, that is fine as it stands. But brother, it was the way in which you 'used' the word 'story' that I found offensive. Say what you like, I found it offensive, and you have to deal with that.

(3) For it was not God's historical story that you mentioned, but 'Sr B's little story', which you did not consider worthy of consideration in context of the debate.

Obviously it is still troubling you, or you would not have brought the subject up yet again. Why not just privately repent and tell God you have sinned and leave it alone. Why rehash the whole thing over and over?

Adriel, never mind the point you were trying to make, I was surprised that you made those statements. That is,
1. You talk of Sister B's "Egyptian / midwife story". What do you mean? Story? It is an historic biblical account, and a valuable lesson in understanding the subject we are engaged in.
John;
Not sure why you rejected the use of the word "story"?

Here is a verse in Bible using it.
2Chron 24:27 Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the **story** of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead."

Thus acceptable in relating to a "narrative" of true facts!!

So the "story" of John's watercolour painting is true!!

The "midwife" story is part of the historic truth of the entire Bible; - About God's Sovereignty over the lives of His servants.

Thanks brother, for your frankness.

It would be a rare thing in the UK for our guv to enforce the vaccination of the population.

Personally I would not take it, and would find ways to avoid it. God designed my body, including the immune system. It is a self-healing body, miraculous in many ways.

Also I may not die until God says my time is up. This is entirely scriptural, and may not be gainsaid.

What purpose life?

2 Corinthians 5:15 KJV
(15)  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

All who gain life from Christ Jesus are to be fully submitted to his Lordship, and Jesus is to be responsible for those to whom he gives life. They become his servants, doing his will at all times (in theory at least). They do not seek life to spend it on themselves but on others. Their only motivation for life is to serve him who loved them and gave himself for them.

Well said brother. If I think getting a vaccine is sinful, then I have an obligation to “not take it”. Jesus is my Lord and Savior, not the government.

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Sovereignty and Responsibility.

"Divine sovereignty and human responsibility are often placed in sharp antithesis to each other. It is true that we are not able to comprehend how divine sovereignty as it comes to expression in the absolute foreordination of all events works harmoniously and consistently with the exercise of our responsibility. We have simply to recognise and accept both and believe that divine foreordination embraces our responsibility but does not in the least nullify its reality or exercise.

The divine sovereignty, moreover, has a manifoldness of aspect or expression, and the aspect with which we are now mainly concerned is that the sovereignty of God as absolute authority demands total subjection to His will in every sphere and activity of life. If God should require less it would be a denial of Himself and it is His glory that this one thing He cannot do." (John Murray)

John if you recall your history there are many, as you mentioned the persecution under the RCC, who we’re imprisoned or killed for their faith by the government in charge
Brother, yes indeed, I have spent many happy hours reading the accounts of all those men you mentioned. Cromwell is a bit different because he was a parliamentarian and Catholic-opposer, who was determined to end kingly rule and bring his own form of guv to bear, which he did for some years.

In all the other cases, their suffering at the hands of guv was on account of their wanting to do something that guv disagreed with.

In the present debate, it is the guv who want to do something to the Christians which they disagree with.

So bro, let us cut to the chase and ask, "If the guv's men arrive at your property armed with vaxes, and expect you to willingly permit them to do their job, what will you do about it?"

In times past, Christians in the UK have suffered persecution from the guv (at that time aligned with the RCC) and rather than rebel and fight against them, they chose to leave the country and find another place to live where they could live happily under a different guv. Biblically, this is called fleeing persecution.
Did not the pilgrim fathers do this?
