China: ‘108 Million People In Lockdown’ As Virus Spreads Again
While several nations began to reopen after months of lockdowns, China put a whopping 108 million people under a stay-at-home order.

In an abrupt reversal of the re-opening taking place across the nation of roughly 1.4 million people, cities in its Jilin province cut off trains and buses, shut schools and quarantined tens of thousands of people on Monday.

The highest-ranking Communist Party official in Jilin’s city of Shulan was reportedly removed with five other government officials as a result of the new outbreak. ...

Please remember China's population is around 1.4 billion so has many more people/cities to keep their economic system going, compared to vastly smaller Nations shutting down entirely, weakening and bringing devastating long term consequences. Borrowed money runs out and if a man doesn't work, he doesn't eat..then what? Coronavirus is here in the West, but doesn't mean we should throw away our God given freedoms and adopt controlling communist ways for temporary safety.

How is my willingness to maybe risk exposed to a virus at the dentist office, and then maybe possibly get sick from it, and then maybe possibly go to a hospital, and then maybe possibly die, different?
The difference Mike, is that in the UK the workers in the NHS are putting their lives on the line to save people who catch the coronavirus, and many of them are dying alongside their patients.

Your attitude I must say, is most callous and uncaring, and I find that difficult to believe about you.

You are not a separate entity, whose decisions affect no-one else. We are all in this together, whether we like it or not. We can cause death in others by our sloppiness and unwillingness to accept that coronavirus is highly contagious.

Methinks you are missing an uncomfortable point, John. The arbitrary declaration of some real work as non-essential, while abortion and liquor is considered essential. Walmart is open, but churches closed, even some with services in cars in parking lots? I hope you will come to see the deception that is being foisted, and used to promote things unacceptable.

Well if the experts are only partially right, why should I listen to non-experts on this forum?

I would just add that sometimes the experts are right and sometimes wrong. The difference with the Enigma machine code is that there was no doubt when it was working. It was either right or not.

These experts today with COVID 19 are only partially right at best. How right they are is hotly debated, and exacerbated by a lack of drive for truth based on an objective standard. So those heroes like Elizabeth Freeman from WW II were in a totally different era. Hard to compare, Brother.

I have a tooth needs fixing. My expert dentist is closed because a political expert governor made his work non essential. I could go to an essential liquor store owner and get some booze, though. Sure glad we have experts behind these decisions, John.

The experts are the very ones who make bad decisions derived from bad models, then when that doesn't work, compensate by kicking the requirement can down the road, and padding the data because their egos are too big for their suits. They never admit error. They're experts, you see. Just admittedly my non-expert opinion, of course. We have to deal with politicians taking advantage by putting forth non-medical commandments, while they state they are based on "the science." You gotta give them credit for gall.

Quiet Brother,
During the second world war, our guv called upon mathematical experts to crack the Enigma machine, a device for coding messages sent by the Germans. It took two geniuses quite a while to solve the dilemma, but they did it. When the Germans developed a more complex machine, the codebreakers solved that one as well.

It was not that the guv solved the problem, but that they had the access to brains in the country who could do the job.

What more can one do? After all, we taxpayers are paying these people to discover things using their expertise.

In the UK, we from time to time find unexploded WWII bombs. No-one calls for the Baptists to come and make it safe. They phone up the specialists, the Bomb Squad, whatever they call themselves. They have the expertise to safely handle the bomb and dispose of it. Sometimes bombs are found in the River Thames near London, there are plenty of them around.

The guv have access to the experts regarding coronaviruses; these people know far more than I do about them. Indeed, I know nothing at all.

A lockdown is to help not overwhelm a community health response. It doesn’t stop the spread , it just lessens the possibilities of getting Covid from being around large crowds. But if you want a revolution- put barbers in jail. If you want people to rebel take away their job and tell them to stay home or get in line for toilet paper. Nope, when you raise a child with strict compliance measures, you’re raising a rebel. That child will find like minded peers and start a rebellion.

The government shouldn't be responsible for keeping us from getting sick! I'm not denying the risk is there, so if you wish to stay home and stay safe, then do so! But if someone wants to go to the store, or church, or work, or a sporting event, or a barber, or a million other things, that should be up to them! And if they get sick, it's on them!!

Personally, I think we're very far off from vaccine if one even comes. They never found a vax for Ebola, or SARS, or aids, so it wouldn't surprise me if they never find a vaccine for covid. Regardless, the government should leave the people alone and let them make their own life choices.

Amen, Adriel and Noname! We must stop living in fear. People die every day. Death is certain. As Christians we don’t need to fear, only trust in the Lord Jesus.

I’m done with all this insanity! I rather have COVID than this quarantine.

They just need to open everything up. the flare ups aren’t gonna stop until most people have been exposed to the virus, and I will NOT be receiving that satanic vaccine.

Wonder how many times they will open and lockdown - open and lock.??? Open and lock???

Corona plague isn't going to just go away and vaccine is still a long way off.

When are the nations going to get back to business??

There is a lot of scared politicians out there.

Somebody needs to make a decision and get on with it.

Christians know for a fact that God is not going to destroy mankind with a virus!!!

So get out there and get on with life!

To God be the glory. Amen.

Communist China wasn’t telling the truth. And since when do they? This is the first wave not the second. Draconian lockdowns and cover up’s can’t hide hide this fact.

Quiet Brother, I believe they are. And any guv in the world can see it for themselves by easing their own lockdown immediately. Just watch the figures going up again.

In Britain, our guv constantly refers to a 'second peak', if the lockdown measures are eased too soon.

The first peak is well passed, and figures are going down, both for cases and for deaths. But lockdown is still in place, because the time is not right to ease it.

What happens if lockdown is eased too soon?

Ask China.
