Face Masks: Robberies up 50%
And Santa Ana police confirmed Thursday that robberies in the city have increased by 50% since the lockdown.

In an April robbery, a thief hid his face with a bandana at a doughnut shop on Bristol. The cashier was caught off guard when the thief pulled out a gun and placed it on the counter. The thief then emptied both registers before getting away.

“It’s the norm,” Cpl. Anthony Bertagna, with Santa Ana PD, said. “So we’re seeing more an more suspects wearing the mask and using that to their benefit.”

Police said they were not exactly sure why there has been such an increase in robberies, but said it could be related to the number of inmates released from area jails due to the pandemic. ...

"The Four Men Responsible For America’s COVID-19 Test Disaster"

Which is interesting, and they should be blamed but I might get some disagreement on that❗

It's rather obvious that Republicans and Democrats disagree on the seriousness of the virus, apparently they at least agree on one thing according to Pew Research

Idan Zonshine wrote:
While they disagree on the risks the disease poses to public health, both Democrats (89%) and Republicans (88%) see the outbreak as a major threat to the US economy.

A survey published on Tuesday by the Pew Research Center found that Democratic and Democratic-leaning Americans were almost twice as likely (82%) to view the coronavirus as a major threat to public health than their Republican counterparts (43%).

Since late March, the share of Republicans who view the outbreak as a major threat to the nation’s health has declined 9 points, from 52% to 43%, while increasing slightly among Democrats, from 78% to 82%.

@Mike: your first comment was almost word for word of the same things that I've been saying.

And IMHO, this pandemic has become a very convenient tool for politicians and other crooked people.

Its all about droplets......

"looking at the efficiency of surgical masks to prevent transmission of the common cold, the flu, and COVID-19.11 Experiments were set up with people confirmed having each of these three viruses and tested the ability of the subjects to transmit the virus through the surgical mask. The authors of the scientific publication found that surgical masks were actually extremely effective at preventing transmission of these viruses.

The authors went on to explain that surgical masks are probably capturing the respiratory droplets in our breath that are teeming with viruses. So the respiratory droplets never leave the inside of the mask and go on to infect the next person." (answersingenesis)

It isn't an update, that word is cover for "we changed our minds again." The expert former opinion is superseded by new expert opinion because people are not frightened as much as they were a couple months ago, so it has been decided that it's not yet time for the people to decide what their risk level should be. Who knows, maybe it has been discovered viruses come in chunk form, so cloth masks work after all.

Mike, they didn't give any statistics on who were committing the crimes since so many people have lost their jobs at least we're marginally law-abiding, their economic distress may have pushed him over the line of law breaking❓❗

"The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently updated its guidelines to recommend all Americans wear cloth or fabric face coverings when they're in a public place.

"This is to reduce the spread of infection by asymptomatic people (meaning they're sick with COVID-19 but show no symptoms), according to Abrar Chughtai, an infectious disease epidemiologist at the University of New South Wales."

Interesting. I wonder if there is any dot connection to be made? After all, the necessity for wearing masks (to fight coronavirus) comes from the same ones who release criminals from jail (to fight coronavirus)

...even in areas where there are no restrictions on staying open, businesses may want to consider switching to curbside pickup now, so they're ready for future guideline changes. Businesses that don’t require customers to physically be in the stores to shop can use curbside pickup as a chance to close their locations and keep people safe while still serving.
From a business standpoint, you’ll use up existing inventory, keep employees working and keep revenue coming in, even if it’s decreased. Employees will see that you’re trying your best to keep them safe while they work. Customers will be happy they can still pick up their orders, food and other items in these uncertain times....

It would no doubt help cut down on robberies also❗👍💸
