Pence Asks Americans to Pray that God Will 'Hear from Heaven' and 'Heal this Land'
Vice President Pence on Thursday thanked Americans for their prayers and urged them to be ‚Äúpersistent‚ÄĚ in praying for those fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
Pence made the remarks alongside President Trump in the Rose Garden at a National Day of Prayer service with religious leaders. Pence also delivered a video address to a Pray.com National Day of Prayer streaming ceremony later in the day.
‚ÄúKaren and I will both attest that the sweetest words that we ever hear are when people will take a moment, walk up, and say, ‚ÄėI‚Äôm praying for you,‚Äô‚ÄĚ Pence said, referencing Second Lady Karen Pence. ‚ÄúAnd you know they mean it from their hearts and we hear it all of the time. We can attest, firsthand, America is a nation of prayer....
I appreciate you taking time to respond. Can't say I agree with your opinion though. The President has but one job and that is to be the executive assigned to uphold the constitution. He is not a spiritual leader nor should he be. If anyone has placed our president to be their role model then they are sorely in need of guidence of the Wonderful Counselor.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
I will say it again. TOO many people are SELF righteous.
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,  And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
"America First" "America FIRST!!" Why not Jesus First?
Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
Dr.Tim is exactly right, God’s judgement is a ongoing rolling storm. I remember when Aids hit the country in the 1980’s. It is a illness that was transferred from primates to human contact ( bite, scratch, or ingestion or unintended consequences of sinful behavior ). Flash to 2019, and mad scientists in China released a virus or sold undercooked bat), which ever you believe. But the point is that you do something unseemly outside nature and the human population suffers the consequences.

Really? If I wanted your input I would have addressed my post to you.
Andrew wrote: Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And OPPRESS NOT the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart....

No disrespect intended but this is what happens when you get a constant diet of the liberal main stream media. Those "cages" were actually initiated and used for children during the Obama administration.
As for those "cruel laws" against illegal immigration..... They've been the law of the land for a long time. They just were not vigorously enforced until Trump took office. If illegal immigration is now the right thing to do then the laws should be removed from the books rather than ignored. Even the bible says where there is no law there is no sin (reckoned).
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
And OPPRESS NOT the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
I am sorry to say this but God will not listen to people who did not listen to him. God wanted mercy and righteousness.
All this 2016 and beyond was SELF righteousness. Go listen to your false prophets and false teachers that told you this was going to be the best years of your lives. You listened them defend putting children in cages and all cruel laws against foreign and non white people.
Now that you are facing cruel laws yourselves, you want to disobey them when you forced other people to obey the government you claimed to love.
God ahead pray and act like you are innocent but I tell you that God came for the lost not 99 self righteous people that do not believe they have no sin.
God is Judging this cruel nation. Just like he will judge everyone.
All politicians in the U.S. have to run for office under the premise of pluralism.
Here is what pluralism really means. If someone says that faith in Christ is essential for their individual salvation but not necessarily for someone else’s then they have logically said it wasn’t essential for them, but was simply a matter of personal choice. The world has told us to think this way in all spiritual matters. So it is not uncommon for someone to apply a moral standard to their own lives, but not to the lives of others. That is moral hypocrisy of the highest order and simply deludes the lost into reducing God’s moral standards and requirements to personal choices, and if a personal choice then they can’t be binding on anyone. This personal choice fallacy is one of the characteristics that separate the true church of Christ from all others. Pluralism is simply spiritual polygamy. There are lots of worthy husbands and Christ just happens to be the one I chose. But, I’ll sleep with whomever I want!
For any naysayers; how many politicians will say that all those not in Christ will suffer His wrath.
7. In praying, don‚Äôt use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. 8. Therefore don‚Äôt be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him. 9. Pray like this: ‚Äú‚ÄėOur Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. 10. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11. Give us today our daily bread. 12. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. 13. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.‚Äô 14. ‚ÄúFor if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15. But if you don‚Äôt forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
There are few people who really think seriously about what is happening when they say, "We are praying for you."
Secondly, there is a worldly sorrow and a godly sorrow, and there is very little of the latter in the world today. How can there be when we are in the midst of the great falling away and apostasy prior to the endtime events?
Joseph D. Harder Ph.D. wrote: .... Even if his ‚Äúmoral majority‚ÄĚ had been able to legislate its complete agenda, the question remained how that political victory was to bring about the spiritual humility, repentance and faith in Jesus Christ that Falwell‚Äôs own theology held was necessary for salvation. As he wrote, ‚Äúgood deeds alone will not save a nation, nor an individual.‚ÄĚ Yet by seeking to implement a ‚Äúmoral‚ÄĚ agenda, while at the same time arguing that that agenda did not depend on ‚Äúregeneration,‚ÄĚ Falwell seems to have been seeking the sort of good-works-without-faith that he disparaged.....
