Pastor receives $300 fine for church gatherings
A pastor was slapped with a $300 fine after repeatedly holding large gatherings inside his Worcester church in defiance of an order by Gov. Charlie Baker. Despite this fine, he says in-person services will continue.

Pastor Kristopher Casey held a service Sunday for 45 people just a week after hosting more than 55 people at Adams Square Baptist Church, according to city officials.

Glad to hear she's doing better, WP. We will pray for her as well.

Jim Lincoln from Nebraska writes:

Flus don't kill like this coronavirus does.

Actually Jim, many experts would disagree with you. For example, Stanford University did a study of thousands of actual COVID-19 cases and discovered that the Flu death rate as averaged over the last 4 years was a little higher than the COVID-19 death rate.

Hi Mike, please tell your wife I will remember her in prayer.
I have been through this with one of my eyes and have lost partial sight. They are keeping a close watch on my other one as it seems to be going in the same direction.
So my thoughts and prayers are with anyone who is/has going through this unsettling issue with eyesight.
Blessings to you both.

Mike, perhaps some of that medical staff that was sitting on their hands, could have volunteered for work in New York City?

Flus don't kill like this coronavirus does

My county has had 35+ deaths, some 600 cases. Population 200000+. Local hospital has furloughed a number of employees. They have nothing to do because other than the covid19 panic, everything else, including pressing surgeries, are postponed as non essential by the governor. My wife is having an issue with one of her eyes, with sight out of it getting worse. Appointment with doctor is postponed, non-essential to the governor, not to my wife or to me. There's covid19 out there, and nothing else matters. I personally know one man, a fellow believer, who had it. Two weeks on ventilator, doing well now. It was a rough go. But beds are empty, and nothing else is getting done. Why?

Ps coronaviruses have been around a long time. 19 is the newest guy. No one has come up with a vaccine for a coronavirus yet. I wouldn't look for one too soon. Then we have the flu vaccines which are touted during flu season, but which are about 50% effective.

My stats are wrong, sorry about that. 34,000 is deaths in 1968, 70,000 in 1957. I don’t know how to resolve this. I’m afraid our Lubbock ME is right, the sole purpose of Covid is to kill people. In a flu pandemic you already have a vaccine system available. But, Covid was politicized and we’re not out of the woods- can’t wrap my head around that everyone in a nursing home was exposed. Why?

Correct WP. Also there was posted on here an article about 2 microbiologists and that most of the things done in America that were unnecessary and we should've been opened back up weeks ago. Are some people not reading those articles also? They are informative about the virus and how things really are.

We averaged 30-40 occupancy in a unit capacity of 300.We’ve had 520 cases with 255 recovered and 42 deaths.
Look up 1968 Hong Kong flu, it has the same numbers. Only, back then the government didn’t shut down the country and didn’t collapse the economy.
It appears our economic medical wunderkinds have been running a good game of panic. They needed to tell food processing plants, troubles headed, but that only works if you actually care about our nation.

Hi Frank, not trying to butt into your convo. with Mike but wanted to share some facts that have recently become known to me.
My husbands cardiologist was on our local radio talk show this morning and was debunking all the stats and numbers that we keep hearing about Covid 19.
Long story short ,he said we are being lied to and manipulated by Government and the Press.
Our son works in the medical field and has told me most of the hospitals he travels to are virtually empty.
We live out West, so don’t know if it’s different in the East.
My 2 mites.
Hope you are doing well.
But then what about Italy, Spain, etc.? Why did they shut down their economies?
Did these other countries lie about their death rates, etc.?

In order for the whole thing to be a hoax or a lie, then it would have to be a global lie. Possible, yes, probable no.

My wife and I are doing fine. The Lord has blessed us so much. Thanks for asking. And even though we are both staying home most of the time, I still haven't had to report any spousal abuse from her. But she has been warned. :-)

Hi Frank, I agree you certainly should do what you think best for yourself and your wife. As we all should. Your last comment brought up another thought. What if it's the government that is, figuratively speaking, yelling fire in a movie theater, and there is no fire?
Good point! I have no idea whether the government is telling the truth or not. We can only choose a side and believe that side to some extent. I tend to try and see things like this from a global perspective. IOW, why have all those countries shut down; many even more than we have? Could they all be lying or could they all have been deceived?

I tend to believe that it is worse than we have been told, but I could easily be wrong.

Thanks for your comment.

I don't know anything about this pastor except for what is written here. But based on what is stated, he's doing the right thing.

If a church meets and they don’t adhere to the social distancing concept, then I would not attend and I would not fellowship with anyone who did attend. I would say the pastor and the members do not care for my health or the health of my wife.
Christian freedoms do come with exceptions. For instance, I have a Christian right to freedom of speech, but I don’t have the Christian right to yell fire in a movie theater; unless there is a fire.

This pastor is a friend of mine. He is being very meek and respectful in this situation, for which I am so thankful. We may not all agree with him in what to do in this pandemic, but please do pray for him and his family. Thanks!
I recognized that probability from his post early this morning and did pray. I had intended to commented at that time hoping to be edifying but thought better of it. Will continue to uphold him and his as the Lord directs.

Here's an interesting viewpoint.
Jeremy Sharon wrote:

Anyway, you and I agree from what I read.
Yes brother we do indeed agree.

This very week I have suggested that our tiny fellowship meets together next Monday, maybe in the car park or on the beach, maintaining social distancing etc. We will need to find somewhere quite hidden, because the police force are quite active this week, checking up on people in the town and round the harbour area.
