Increased sales of the Bible during coronavirus pandemic
Major Christian publishing companies have reported increased sales of the Bible during the coronavirus pandemic. The increase is reportedly similar to that observed after the September 11 terror attacks in 2001.
The Christian Post reports that Tyndale House, a publishing firm based in Illinois, said their Bible sales for March 2020 were considerably higher than they were for the same time last year. Speaking to the Post on Tuesday, Tyndale executive Jim Jewell said: “It's not surprising that people turn to the comfort and clarity of the Bible in times of trouble and uncertainty.”
Jewell confirmed there had also been an increase in Bible sales in the month following the 9/11 attacks when “Tyndale Bible sales were 57% higher than October of 2000.”...
