Texas Governor Abbott Deems Religious Services “Essential” in the State
DailyCaller reports as authorities arrest pastors for holding Sunday services in defiance of social distancing orders, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that religious services are to be considered essential in his state.

Abbott issued an executive order relating to state-wide continuity of essential services and activities during the coronavirus pandemic. The order mandated that all Texans will minimize social gatherings and in-person contact with people who are not in the same household, and, among other statutes, clarified that religious services conducted in churches, congregations and houses of worship are to be considered essential services. ...

Oh I get it, Jim. You think real Republicans are Democrats who call themselves Republicans. Thanks for the heads up.

If these "real" Republicans actually vote for that Biden figurehead, I would be ashamed to be a "real" Republican, if I was one. These bozos care about their country about as much as the commies of BLM care about George Floyd. Six of one...

A good reminder; David Platt; True belief in both heaven & hell radically changes the way we live on earth. We are encouraged by the hope of heaven, & we are compelled by the horror of hell. We know that this world isn’t all that exists. We know that every person on the planet is only here for a brief moment, & an eternity lies ahead of us all – an eternity that is either filled with ever-increasing delight or never-ending damnation.

Good reminder to paste on the door leading to the Basement of Lincoln. &!others who have a created a false God to their their own liking!

Jonathan Edwards said that the reason we find hell so offensive is because of our insensitivity to sin.

Two real reasons you don't like him:

1. He's a Republican.

2. He issued an order last month that suspends non-emergency, elective surgeries, in order to free up hospital beds for COVID-19 patients. Of course, that includes abortion, which you seem fond of supporting.

btw, many hospitals are postponing electives anyway, so it's not a Republican thing. Abortions are just not that necessary.

I think the distancing rule will work in several churches, where attendance is so low that people can be assigned seats already marked to be 6 feet apart.
I read that 85 percent of all US churches have attendance of less than 100.

And to think I am in the process of moving there May 1st due to a job transfer. It was put off for a couple of months but it is of necessity I be there May 1st.

Does he not understand that God is looking for true worshipers who will worship him in Spirit and truth (John 4). We don't need to go to a specific place to worship. Two and three can gather in the name of the Lord via telecon, etc. in these days. We don't need to go to housetops (Mat 13:15), or in the desert. Jesus is omnipresent. God gave us doctors, scientists, civil leaders, etc. to do his will and keep order.
By the way,I truly believe that when we lift sanctions against Russia, we'll see the sudden introduction of a "miracle" cure. Our economy just might get back on track. So will Russia's.

“When the ban on such public gatherings was lifted (due to the Spanish Flu), Francis J. Grimké, pastor of the Fifteenth Presbyterian Church, delivered a discourse on November 3, 1918 in which he offered his thoughts about the situation, which was published soon after under the title Some Reflections, Growing Out of the Recent Epidemic of Influenza That Afflicted Our City: A Discourse. “

2Ti 2:19 HCSB-r Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, having this inscription: The Lord knows those who are His, and Everyone who names the name of the Lord must turn away from unrighteousness.

Who can quibble with "Essential"? It is the right word to use in this situation.

  7. Jesus said unto him, It is written again— (De 6:16), as if he should say, "True, it is so written, and on that promise I implicitly rely; but in using it there is another Scripture which must not be forgotten."
Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God—"Preservation in danger is divinely pledged: shall I then create danger, either to put the promised security skeptically to the proof, or wantonly to demand a display of it? That were 'to tempt the Lord my God,' which, being expressly forbidden, would forfeit the right to expect preservation."
