'Stay-at-home' order causes increase in suicide-related calls
The "stay-at-home" order in effect across Oregon can have a big impact on people’s mental health, and Portland police officials said they are seeing a dramatic change in their response to people in crisis.
Calls for threats or attempts of suicide are up 41% over this time last year, and up 23% from the 10 days prior to the state of emergency in Portland, Police Chief Jami Resch said in a news conference Tuesday.
“We do know that people are struggling, and we want to get out as many resources to folks as possible by encouraging you to contact friends and family, whether it’s by phone, text, video chat. Check in with each other, know that there are resources available,” Resch said....
Gay, you can see my pastor live on your computer every Sunday at 10:30. First they have a few members of the choir singing then he preaches and his sermons are very encouraging during this storm we are all in. www.fbctexarkana.org I have had depression also and know the pain and suffering you go through. Blessings and prayers.
It was a witness to the sailors on the ship that were praying to their gods to no effect and Jonah admits it was his God and to throw him overboard and storm ceased and they were able to see the reality of his God as true God.
That’s what we are doing now since our church has closed it’s doors. Pastor streamlining his sermons and one SS Class is teaching by same method. We call and keep in touch. God is still in control and using this time to get the attention of the world just as he did Jonah who was fleeing from God in a ship headed away from the place God wanted him to be preaching to the most wicked people on earth at the time. He went through a lot but obeyed and preached and they repented by fasting and prayers and were spared coming judgement. It was a witness to the sailors on the ship that were praying to their gods to no effect and Jonah admits it was his God and to throw him overboard and storm ceased and they were able to see the reality of his God as true God. Preached past Sunday by our pastor.
