NYC Mayor to synagogues: Close for coronavirus or be shut down permanently
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio warned the Jewish community that synagogues that continue to defy coronavirus regulations and hold services will be permanently shut down.

While the majority of synagogues have closed in accordance with city orders aimed at slowing the spread of coronavirus by limiting social gathering, others have stayed open.

"We’ve had extraordinary, across the board rabbinical support from all the different elements of the Jewish community and the same is true of other faiths as well," de Blasio said in his Friday news briefing, according to The Jewish Press. ...

Mayor de Blasio is probably pinching himself. He was slow to react in the safety of his citizens and now fast on threatening his citizens.
Typical communist wannabe dictator.
He didn't waste any time last month telling people to go and support restaurants and bars, and to the Chinese New Year celebration, when he was already aware of the virus. Now he wants people to lock it up. Unless you want to fly out of the city, and bring "I Love New York" to
other cities. That's "essential"

The government will take the lessons of shutting down whole states and determine that without saying the US constitution has been suspended... it basically is looking that way. Life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness sold from to a raw food vendor in Wuhan, China. Eventually, people are going to say, “ I’m going to attend church, I’m going to... you can’t assembif the door is locked from your church or favorite restaurants. 65 million people unemployed with destabilize this country worse than a virus that might, might , might kill 200,000 people. Mayor de Blasio is probably pinching himself. He was slow to react in the safety of his citizens and now fast on threatening his citizens.
Typical communist wannabe dictator.

That is quite a misrepresentation of that passage! They are simply exercising their first amendment rights as Americans. We should not be so critical of those who are willing to take a little bit of a risk in order to do what they believe is right.

Matthew 4:5-7

5. Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6. and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’” 7. Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”

No God does not reward people who refuse to use common sense. 👎

What the mayor should do to really save lives is close down the NYC mills.

Closet dictators are always looking for a reason to come out. We have an entire party here doing just that. And doing whatever is necessary to free themselves from the irritating chains that liberty holds them with. In the name of the public welfare of course. This same DeBlasio just last month was telling New Yorkers if they weren't sick, to go out and have a good time. To go to the Chinese New Year celebration. Now he wants to close synagogues? But he's showing leadership in these trying times blah blah. When will people wake up? Has he closed the airports yet? Maybe it's easier to spread things farther and faster by air than by synagogue.

Also,

[The history of the plague in the village (Eyam, Derbyshire) began in 1665 when a flea-infested bundle of cloth arrived from London for the local tailor. Within a week his assistant George Vicars was dead and more began dying in the household soon after.

As the disease spread, the villagers turned for leadership to their rector, the Reverend William Mompesson, and the ejected Puritan minister Thomas Stanley. They introduced a number of precautions to slow the spread of the illness from May 1666. The measures included the arrangement that families were to bury their own dead and relocation of church services to the natural amphitheatre of Cucklett Delph, allowing villagers to separate themselves and so reducing the risk of infection. Perhaps the best-known decision was to quarantine the entire village to prevent further spread of the disease.] wiki

Yes, at this extremely difficult time, we definitely need to be very careful, and it is right to close down public events and gatherings. However, we also have to be aware of two very great difficulties. The longer this total lockdown continues, the more the economy will be totally ruined, the more pressure will go up for permanent centralised state control, and of course, the aim of the enemy of souls, the coming world government, cashless world economy and the world interfaith religion to go with it, that will end up in the compulsory mark of the beast and the worship of Antichrist.

The other factor is that in democratic countries, already there are forces that are deliberating hyping this up, aided by the media, causing widespread fear and panic, and why is there virtually little or no testing. That should have taken place immediately, and then followed by sensible measures, not disproportionate closing down of everything. Sweden and South Korea seem to have followed this sensible path.

Also in past times of plague, at considerable danger to themselves, yes, the church was still allowed to be at the heart of it as C H Spurgeon, during the cholera epidemic in London in the 1860’s would inform you!!!

The majority are being sensible, even though they are unregenerate and still under God's wrath. But some are acting like they want to kill someone, which they are likely to do by not heeding the guv's guidelines or mandates. Maybe they are trying to be super spiritual, and trusting in Jehovah to separate them from the world as his beloved wife.

I can see why the mayor of New York is having a problem.

The Israeli government is having a problem is having a problem with the ultra-orthodox. The problem is ignorance about diseases just for one reason.

This is clearly unconstitutional, and yet certain Democrats think the mayor would make a good president.
