NYT: (White) evangelicals responsible for spread of COVID-19
At least since the 19th century, when the proslavery theologian Robert Lewis Dabney attacked the physical sciences as “theories of unbelief,” hostility to science has characterized the more extreme forms of religious nationalism in the United States. Today, the hard core of climate deniers is concentrated among people who identify as religiously conservative Republicans. And some leaders of the Christian nationalist movement, like those allied with the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, which has denounced environmental science as a “Cult of the Green Dragon,” cast environmentalism as an alternative — and false — theology.
This denial of science and critical thinking among religious ultraconservatives now haunts the American response to the coronavirus crisis. On March 15, Guillermo Maldonado, who calls himself an “apostle” and hosted Mr. Trump earlier this year at a campaign event...

'Tabloid science' on Global Warming, is the source of superstitious nonsense as can be obtained from the media such as the NYT.
Debate from both sides of the argument is not accepted by the Global Baloney crowd. Which illustrates how they make their mind up on the subject. Sensationalism sells more print and pays better.
Believing Tabloid science is what the masses do when lacking discernment and intellectual stimulus.
Of course satanic Liberalism rules the brain cells of the reprobates who produce the media indoctrination.
As God states - "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools," Rom 1:22
Man's 'science' becomes his bible when GOD chooses to leave him in his natural estate.
Blaming the orthodox Christians just demonstrates their blindness, ignorance and alienation from truth.
Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:"
Jim Virkler wrote: .... Early pioneers of the scientific method were, for the most part, theologically Christian in their worldview. They understood nature’s orderly laws as a manifestation of the authorship of God. Galileo, Descartes, Pascal, Boyle and many others openly acknowledged God’s authorship of the creation and its operation. The sense of empowerment resulting from their knowledge did not deter them from connecting the creation with the Creator. They described the precision of nature’s laws and the apparent design manifest in both living and non-living things as God-affirming. They did not hesitate to publicly acknowledge the connection between the physical universe and its Creator. Theology was often described as the “Queen of the Sciences.” .... ....Even when scientific methodology signals intelligent design as an explanatory option, the science community stridently denies that possibility as a subject for serious investigation. One of the best examples is the coded information in the DNA of living cells. The origin of such information has no credible naturalistic explanation because codes are always the product of a mind....
If this virus starts taking out doctors, nurses, medical technicians, house keepers, direct responders, policemen, jailers and duly elected judges and criminal attorneys... there will be enough chaos, that yes, Christians will be blamed for this virus that the mass media Neros and survivors will need someone to blame for this catastrophe. ( albeit, the one fault is the WHO media believed China, when they said there was no probably of human to human transmission of virus in Wuhan, China.)

Ah, you are one of those who goes to a surgeon to operate on you to save your life, but you don't trust in the surgeon but in God only, who makes the surgeon into a robot who will only do what God tells him to do.
Yes, I've met you before, hundreds of times.
The car mechanic need not have done all that training for you and your car. God could have given him the skill without all that.
Answers in Genesis wrote: .... The argument of “science vs. religion” attempts to paint evolution as a scientific fact and creation as a religious fairy tale. However, both evolution and creation are belief systems about the past. Particles-to-person evolution is an idea of men based on anti-God and anti-biblical philosophies, such as naturalism and materialism. Creation is based on the Bible, which claims to be the Word of the Creator God. The scientific method cannot prove evolution or creation since both are in the category of historical (origins) science (rather than operational science—think scientists in lab coats, making predictions and conducting experiments).
Historical Evidence of the Bible
When someone challenges Voddie Baucham by saying, “You can’t prove the Bible by the scientific method,” he responds that you couldn’t prove that George Washington was the first US president by the scientific method, which requires something that is observable, measurable, and repeatable. History isn’t judged by the scientific method but by another set of evidences, such as eyewitnesses....

God gives the Bible man wisdom to only trust Him. We therefore have an open mind when viewing even supposed expert opininions and MUST examine all the facts; we are better off maintaining that implicit trust in God and remembering men are most fallible indeed BEFORE reaching our conclusions.
There's another expert Dr also called John Lee, it might be wise to look at how certain figures are arrived at, see mention in

Since no body knows exactly when ones next breath may be their very last breath given. O’ how precious wisdom is that comes from Up Above Alone! Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (Pro. 4:23). As Solomon isn’t talking about the blood-pumping organ in ones chest, but the control center of of ones life. He is talking about ones soul.
1 PT 2:11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners & pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
2 Cor 4:6 For it’s the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
What profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, & loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mat. 16:26)

Marty, I don't think the guv have gone into things that far ahead. They are more focussed on keeping deaths down to below 20,000 in the UK, which would be quite an achievement.
John, what did your government say it’d do after all the cases went away, but then once the virus returns but most people still have no immunity against it?
This "paper" should become irrelevant; it has seen its best days long ago. In its physical form It should be used to supplement the shortage of toilet paper and its articles should be classified as "sensationalist" (the dirty form of the word) at best. I've noticed that the Washington Post has toned down its political propaganda. Even Hillary and the bitter stars who were gleeful and mocked on Twitter that the U.S. had become the nation with the most cases of the virus were roundly mocked in return. Hopefully the NYT and NPR will come out of this epidemic with a major loss of subscribers and viewership. With a nation struggling together as one to overcome a danger to all of its citizens of all backgrounds and philosophies there is no room nor patience for those who continue to have caustic attitudes against another fellow American.
There are plenty of charts to see, from around the world, as to how the numbers of cases are increasing or decreasing, depending on the response from leaders of countries. If they do nothing, the numbers of cases and deaths rises uncontrollably. If they are very strict (as it is in the UK) the numbers will start coming down. It's hardly rocket science, facts and figures. But if they want to call it science, I've no beef with that.
Interesting. And one wonders why the President has no good thing to say about the NYT.
I've heard a bit of statements from political leaders about people of Asian ethnicity being blamed for the coronavirus and for spreading it. But somehow it's OK for the NYT to blame white Christians? I don't know how that works, except that white people and Christians are the acceptable groups to abuse. Critical Theory at its worst...
But the Lord told us Christians of every ethnicity that we would get it better that He got it. Revelation 7 gives us their group snapshot.
