The NYPD says major crimes grew 22.5% in February compared to the same month last year including a 7.1% increase in shootings. Robbery, assault, burglary, grand larceny, and grand larceny auto crimes all saw increases.
The only positive statistic related to murders, which were down 20%. Only 20 people were killed in New York City in February according to the NYPD.
Police officials blame criminal justice reforms for the uptick in crime.
Universal Free Health Care would stop it. “ Straight out of Lincoln”, tee-shirts should be made up.

Well, that murder rate makes it much safer than Baltimore! I wonder if this story is running after Mike "Stop and Frisk" Bloomberg, done with spending millions of his own money on incessant ads, is looking for a VP position (maybe you could call it a Junior President and he would fit the bill!). Of course, in all these crime stories, what is usually hidden or omitted is the race of the people committing the crimes. When it is shown, young blacks (the ones Bloomie targeted and thus reduced the NYC crime rate when he was mayor)lead the pack. Anyone can visit Paul Kersey's blog at vdare.com and find story about story about cities where blacks are a small percentage of the overall population, but make up the large majority of murder suspects.
Looks like Jim’s ABC article lays the blame at the Democrats in charge. Crime went down under Giuliani. Probably why Jim is encouraging people to vote Republican
Not so strange. When leftist hirelings are in charge, the results are similar. Refusal to blame criminals for crime, but rather circumstances or lack of money, leads to more evil, not less. Pride prevents those in charge ever learning from their error. Aside from which, living in a big city is itself not very conducive to civility.

...thus proving that so-called "social justice" does not equal real justice or criminal justice. The criminals they let loose weren't misunderstood; they were just evil.
