WHO Declares Coronavirus Outbreak a Global Public Health Emergency
The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak in China a public health emergency of international concern, pointing to a significant increase in the number of cases and the diseaseâs spread to other countries.
The designation, issued Thursday, came as the first person-to-person transmission of the virus was reported in the U.S.
The WHO designation indicates that international public-health authorities now consider the respiratory virus a significant threat beyond, China where it originated last month. The move could further heighten the global response to the outbreak....

Like I said, it matters not what some in the WHO felt to the contrary, it is their official position that reveals what WHO stands for in the situation.
As to the question, nothing happens. We aren't in the middle of a pandemic, and WHO isn't doing anything one way or another that affects what's left of Covid 19. Besides, haven't you heard, we have riots now, and the same leftists who want you locked down to be safe from disease aren't interested in arresting rioters for violating spacing requirements. They have constitutional rights to assemble, you see.

You are certainly fond of revisionism, Jim. It doesn't matter what someone within WHO felt. What matters is the organization's official position. For your enlightenment:
December: Taiwan reports to WHO its concerns about the severity of this coronavirus. Taiwan ignored. Why should be obvious.
January 23: WHO says there is no evidence of human to human transmission. Don't you wonder who they got their "science" from?
January 30: WHO declares a global health emergency, praising China for its handling of the Wuhan virus.
Wow, one week between no transmission between humans to a public health emergency. Good to know there are always politically and monetarily motivated experts to show the way.
news.abc.net.au wrote: China stalled on providing critical coronavirus information to the World Health Organization (WHO), which expressed frustration in private even as it praised the country in public, according to a recent report from the Associated Press (AP).
Key points:
â˘Recordings show WHO officials were privately frustrated by information delays from China
â˘A delay of just a few days in releasing genetic sequences can be critical in an outbreak
â˘China has hit back, saying the report has "no truth" and it has been "an open book"....

Adriel wrote: Is that your expert opinion, Mike? đ
Simple observation of past expert opinions, Adriel. Haven't you noticed most experts, like "sources" have no names? Consider in this very article- "..international public-health authorities now consider.."
Unnamed "authorities" is another one. Maybe some authorities are more equal than others, though.
Did you know some 18000 people have died so far from flu this year, just in the USA, according to the CDC? Not newsworthy for some reason.

Adriel, because we are living in the endtimes, I have no problem believing in worldwide difficulties, tribulations, chaos, pandemics, oceanic frothings, evil activities, variable climates, planet abnormalities, humans losing normal thought patterns, insane nuclear launches, global warfare, and on and on. It is all part of the beginning of the end, when that door of grace is finally shut, and mens' hearts shall fail them for fear of what is coming on the earth.
What is coming? The Lord Jesus Christ is coming! The Word of God! With all his holy angels, to execute wrath and judgment on all the ungodly.
Lift up your heads, saints! Your redemption draweth nigh!
A word to the ungodly. Be not deceived. When the Lord returns, the door of salvation will be shut. Now is the time, today is the day of salvation. When HE comes, it is all over, and you will be too late.
Mike wrote: "WHO Declares Coronavirus Outbreak a Global Public Health Emergency" Oh oh. Looks like we'll need a global public health solution. 1. Instill abundance of fear worldwide. Use media to report every sickness as probable Covid 19. 2. Wait for panic buying at grocery stores. 3. Wait until the "public" demands solution to shortages and disease. 4. Drag fear and anger on through the US election. Use quarantine as much as possible. 5. Await emotional US electorate to remove Trump, install any Democrat to save us. 6. Continue with globalist one-world agenda, now that temporary Orange-man thorn in its side is removed. Swamp critters all over the world rejoice. 7. Covid 19 now burns itself out, which it would have done anyway, in its reality as a disease, and certainly in its usefulness as a tool. 8. Wait for Jim/Lincoln to once again independently declare he doesn't criticize sitting presidents.
Can't allow a crisis go to waste especially during an election cycle. And if it doesn't rise to the level of a crisis, well, that can be fixed too.
âEighty years ago a sudden mutation in the virus that causes influenza initiated a worldwide epidemic that in only 18 months killed an estimated 25 to 40 million people around the world. Many consider this to be the worst natural disaster in historyâ (Hillary Johnson, âKiller Flu,â Rolling Stone , Jan. 22, 1998) . Some historians feel this epidemic hastened the end of World War I.
Scientists studying infectious diseases have sounded warnings that this could occur again.
One expert, W.I.B. Beveridge, says, âThere is no known reason why there should not be another catastrophic pandemic like that of 1918 or even worse. The flu always has the capability of becoming a global plague: a spark in a remote corner of the world could start a fire that scorches us all. Should a super flu like that of 1918 make a comeback now that the population has quadrupled and more than a million people cross international boundaries on jets each day, experts say it could kill hundreds of millionsâ (ibid.)." (UCG)
Douglas Fir, itâs not that bad. Donât change your plans based on fear. Find a reputable financial advisor and make a plan if you donât have one yet. Thousands of people die from the flu every year. Not sure yet if this corona thing will be worse than that or not.
Using your money for the Lordâs work is good. I do warn you though that thereâs a lot of folks out there who claim to be doing Godâs work but are merely fattening themselves on donations. I have worked internationally in ministry and thereâs so many people out there who are wolves in sheepâs clothes.
I think Douglas Fir is really asking for an answer? I would say hold on to the all the doomsday thoughts, this virus is not yet that bad , people are surviving it and moving on with life especially outside of China. At times like these it is best to turn off the Tv, cnn, fox, etc and communicate instead with missionaries who are affected by all of this.
Gee, the latest news headlines are starting to sound a lot like a page from the last book of the Bible! What do you think? Are we living in the Last Days? Should I take Social Security early because I can use the (reduced) amount for the Lord's Work and not worry about receiving more if I wait until later.
Some good news, my friend who is a local to the epicenter of wuhan, is getting better, no more fever. God is good and can heal! She is lonely though. And many more are recovering according to Internet reports.
I'm still separated from a loved one until march or april, as every foreigner must self quarantine themselves for 2 weeks after arrival, which I won't risk doing.
I'm trying to encourage myself like King David did:
"Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God." (1 Samuel 30:6 NKJV)
