Surge in abortion restrictions bolsters 2020 March for Life
As pro-life advocates marched on Washington Friday (Jan. 24), state legislatures had passed 58 abortion restrictions in 2019. But measures providing the most protection for the unborn are blocked in court.

Nearly half of the restrictions enacted in 2019, 25, would ban all or at least some abortions, Guttmacher Institute reported, setting the stage for Supreme Court challenges to Roe v. Wade 47 years after its passage.

The U.S. Supreme Court has yet to reverse the ruling, but is scheduled March 4 to hear arguments in June Medical Services v. Gee, a challenge to a 2016 Louisiana law requiring abortion doctors to have hospital admitting privileges within 30 miles of the doctor's clinic. Most recently, the court refused to hear an appeal regarding a Kentucky law requiring doctors to perform ultrasounds and show fetal images to patients before abortions. The law had already survived a lower court ...

Jim, you are spouting utter nonsense straight from Johnson's war on poverty. Your socialist viewpoint isn't an accurate view. You would do well to harken to NeedHim.

My, the conservative Evangelical "wanted to have his cake and eat it too" they want to stop abortion, as long as they don't have to pay for it ❗👎

Falwell Sr. did set up a care center for pregnant women.

The present Catholic position is really determined by the policy of the Immaculate Deception👎
Patsy McGarry wrote:
The Catholic Church’s current position on abortion is 144 years old. In the 1869 document Apostolicae Sedis, Pope Pius IX declared the penalty of excommunication for abortions at any stage of pregnancy. Up to then Catholic teaching was that no homicide was involved if abortion took place before the foetus was infused with a soul, known as “ensoulment”.

Separate consciousness
This was believed to occur at “quickening”, when the mother detected the child move for the first time in her womb. It indicated a separate consciousness.

In 1591, Pope Gregory XIV determined it took place at 166 days of pregnancy, almost 24 weeks. That is the current legal limit for abortion in the UK. It was Catholic Church teaching until 1869.

Among those who held a different view on abortion to that of the Catholic Church now are some of its most eminent thinkers. [ ]

Before the marriage of political convenience between conservative Catholics and Protestants, the Protestants took the same view as the Jews did on abortion❗

Jim supports the mass murder of unborn babies, Jewish or not. It’s just a matter of time before he supports the murder of born ones if judgement tarries or unless he repents. Idolatrous heathens who refuse to repent just go deeper into sin and uncleanliness. He supports LGBTQ+ behavior and confusion. He loves what God hates and hates what God loves.

Carl, of Asheville, I would suggest you read the portion on segregation, etc. of

https://tinyurl.com/sswpdgw ("Heal Their Land": Evangelical Political Theology From the Great Awakening to the Moral Majority) if you're using an Android tablet and depending on the version of Android you have, etc., you may be able to read this dissertation without downloading it. I assume you can find 1.6 megabytes of space to download it. No doubt it'll be downloaded as a PDF file if that is the only option that gives you, and then go to section on civil rights of the dissertation.

No, most abortions are not murder. And if you do consider that then why don't you complain about the high priestess of President Trump?

https://tinyurl.com/vntwcwf (Trump’s spiritual adviser called for ‘all satanic pregnancies to miscarry.’ It was a metaphor, she says.)

'"Christian activism" involves today the well-meaning but foolish attempt to force "Christian principles" upon a godless society through more effective lobbying, larger demonstrations, and greater "social upheaval" than the homosexuals, abortionists, or pornographers can produce....we must win them to Christ that they might live wholly for God....'

Are you arguing that no one should call murder immoral and not resist governments that promote and fund the mass murder of innocents? You're in the wrong kingdom. Your king is a murderer from the very beginning while our King authors life.

Why, Timothy, I got your attention. as I pointed out, this dissertation has a wealth of material, and is quite accurate. It somewhat reminds me other materials that I was exposed to at IHCC, which confirms the accuracy of the dissertation. So, Timothy, if you want a fairly good history of evangelicals moving into politics, download the dissertation in PDF form from:

https://tinyurl.com/sswpdgw ("Heal Their Land": Evangelical Political Theology From the Great Awakening to the Moral Majority)

You should see that the author is a lot less hostile to dominionists than many dispensationalists would be---such as myself. He wasn't from an IFB Church, and what I read from his former church's website it is conservative.

Some of you may not like the source of the insert that I put in the dissertation, though as far as I can see everything is completely accurate in it.

I have used three references through various times through the years.

https://tinyurl.com/hkojvpl (Is [was] America a "Christian" Nation?),
https://tinyurl.com/yq56fn (Notes on "Christian" America--(A Myth That Won't Die))
and
https://tinyurl.com/a643m (American Masonic History--What Are America's True Roots?)

I probably should have used one or more of the above references because their Christian credentials are excellent.

Continued in the following comment.

Professor Harder's dissertation is excellent, at least the 80 or 90 pages I read of the 200 plus ones ❗👍 I have a few complaints, which are not at the level of seriousness, that I wouldn't highly recommend his paper.

For many of us, he doesn't like the unwavering or perhaps the unquestioning support many of us give to Israel. Well, it's the 75th anniversary of the capture of Auschwitz by the allies and one's hard put to criticize the state of Israel. Even as God's chosen people we realize that Israel is not a Christian country - yet - and it is run by humans. This means it has not reached a state of perfection, which is something we should pay attention to--on rare occasions.

He used the term "revival" that actually many here on SermonAudio like to use. I have often pointed out in the past, you can't revive something that was never alive in the first place. I can, and many of you will, overlook that phraseology.

Many of these stances make little sense to those outside the ideology. That could be said, of course, of any political ideology; any such ideology seems strange to those do not share it. Yet thoughtful outsiders will seek to understand, and I hope to assist in that process. I may not share much of the political ideology of the Christian Right, but I do share most of the basic theological commitments of the evangelicals who are part of the movement, and I do not wish to see them misunderstood or caricatured.
