Archbishop of York: ‘Bible has to fit the current culture’
The incoming Archbishop of York believes biblical teaching on sexuality should come second to 21st century Western cultural beliefs.

He said it would be wrong to ignore the “damage” that is done by rejecting Western society’s current view of human sexuality.

“I am not sure the church has ever before had to face the challenge of being seen as immoral by the culture in which it is set.”

He also claimed, in the same address to leaders in his own diocese, that taking a biblical view on same-sex relationships “can legitimise homophobia in others”. ...

Most “Bibles” do conform to a certain extent with the current culture—the notable exception being the KJB.

The "culture" and Scripture will always be incompatible. The whole world lies in the lap of the wicked one." That includes these false religions!

Sola scriptura is not in their vocabulary

Ah the C.of E. religion of Liberalism - Worldly ideology and of course PC.

Thus do we see the religious reprobates parading their ignorance and blindness, alienated from the life of God. (Eph 4:18)

Is it so strange that sin blinds the mortal and directs him to human concocted religious convictions?
No! In a world where we have the RCC, JW's, Mormons, Pagans and muslims etc... We can see that mans sinful imagination takes him to heights which he believes are divine.

Liberalism is bits of the Bible with truth scraped away to make it acceptable to the creature and his false superstitions.

In due course over history the C.of E. and the C.of S. have fallen prey to man's rebellion from God. Looking for an alternative he just makes it up and pats himself on the head thinking he is 'wise'.

Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things."

= Anything but God.

This is typical of this ungodly group. This man is saying that we need to revise and "update" the Bible in order to fit the sins of man, ESPECIALLY the sodomites.

You can never go wrong obeying God. His word comes first and last because he is the Alpha and the Onega.

Then many of his disciples who heard this said, “This is a difficult teaching; who can accept it?” Jesus, because he knew in himself that his disciples were grumbling at this, said to them, “Does this offend you? Then what if you should see the Son of Man going up to where he was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and they are life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who were the ones that would not believe and who it was who would betray him. He said, “It is because of this that I said to you that no one can come to me unless it is granted to him by the Father.” Because of this, many of his disciples went away and no longer walked with him.
(Joh 6:60-66)

Those who are afraid of Christ and His Word (the Scriptures) are those who truly phobic ("Whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
(Mar 8:38)).

Shoudln't be surprising that a person who has no problem being part of a buch which has Vicars to vicariously stand in God's place has not read his whole bible,

The Old and New Testaments tell us quite clearly that the followers of God were then considered immoral by unbelievers.

They were seen as not only immoral, but as faithless and godless because they didn't worship every tree and natural event and mood which had a godling ascribed to it.

The Bible calls out to the current culture to follow Jesus Christ, not the other way around, something like Wisdom from Proverbs 1:

Wisdom crieth without: she uttereth her voice in the streets. She calleth in the high street, among the prease in the enterings of the gates, and uttereth her words in the city, saying, O ye foolish, how long will ye love foolishness? and the scornful take their pleasure in scorning? and the fools hate knowledge? (Turn you at my correction: lo, I will pour out my mind unto you, and make you understand my words.) Because I have called, and ye refused: I have stretched out mine hand, and none would regard. But ye have despised all my counsel, and would none of my correction, I will also laugh at your destruction, and mock when your fear cometh. When your fear cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirlwind: when affliction and anguish shall come upon you, Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer: they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me, Because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord. They would none of my counsel, but despised all my correction. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. - Proverbs 1:20-31
