Laurent Simons is studying electrical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE) -- a tough course even for students of an average graduate age.
Described by staff as "simply extraordinary," Laurent is on course to finish his degree in December.
He then plans to embark on a PhD program in electrical engineering while also studying for a medicine degree, his father told CNN.
Not to take anything away from this for I am sure he is worthy of his degree but his fellow peers of 2019 can not compare with those of 1969 (50 yrs ago). Today's kids may have more sophisticated means of learning but we got much more from what we paid into from education than we do now. To prove that "Wisdom is evident of her children" they would never have accepted someone like AOC as an example of a leader. Nor be afraid to engage with or seek psychological counseling when someone who doesn't agree with them gives another point of view.
I remember when I was younger (centuries ago) reading some works of Dr. Edward de Bono. One of the points he alluded to I remember was that, "School taught you facts but did not teach children how to learn."

Quote from Dr. Judy Willis:- "IQ is not fixed at birth and brain development and intelligence are ‘plastic’ in that internal and environmental stimuli constantly change the structure and function of neurons and their connections. Teachers have the opportunity to help all children build their brains beyond what was previously believed to be fixed limits based on learning disabilities or the predictions of test scores or achievements.
It was once believed that brain cell growth stops after age twenty. We now know that through neuroplasticity, interneuron connections (dendrites, synapses, and myelin coating) continue to be pruned or constructed in response to learning and experiences throughout our lives." (How The Memory Works In Learning)
I guess he doesn't spend too much time on social media or playing video games. Meanwhile, the average retiree in the US watches TV for 51 hours a week, and this statistic was taken before the onslaught of smartphones began.
I wuz actually 9 and 2 days when I graduated from kinnygarden...
Uv course, ever since then I have been learning the ropes of the true men of this styate. My skyills at grabbing dinner right before the 18 wheeler crushes it to pieces is simply amayzing...
Why, that ain’t nuthin! JAG wuz only nine when he grajiated from K-4 kinnygarden, and his brother BDF wuz rebuilding motors for his airboat at that age. Now them is some REAL geniuses!
