Bishop chosen to investigate church sex abuse is himself accused
A bishop tapped by Pope Francis to investigate the Roman Catholic Church's response to sex abuse allegations in Buffalo, N.Y., has himself been accused of sexually abusing a child decades ago.

Boston attorney Mitchell Garabedian notified the church officials in New Jersey this week of the allegations against Brooklyn Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio. The bishop was selected by Francis last month to investigate the church's Buffalo Diocese, where Bishop Joseph Malone has come under fire for his handling of a clergy abuse scandal.

Garabedian said he is preparing a lawsuit on behalf of his client, Mark Matzek, 56, who said DiMarzio molested him in the mid-1970s as a priest in Jersey City, N.J. The lawsuit will ask for $20 million in compensation. ...

From the news:
"Garabedian said he is preparing a lawsuit on behalf of his client, Mark Matzek, 56, who said DiMarzio molested him in the mid-1970s as a priest in Jersey City, N.J. The lawsuit will ask for $20 million in compensation"

Though the accusation could be true, I would hope it takes more than that about an event said to happen 40+ years ago. Accusation without evidence is the game the left plays, to diminish the need for evidence, in order to destroy or imprison your opposition. Banana republic/Communist ways. Why should it be ok in this case? The fact that the RCC institution is not trustworthy is not relevant. The fact that $20,000,000 is being sought suggests justice isn't behind the suit.

"According to Catholic theology, salvation is synergistic (syn = together; ergon = work): God and people work together to operate the salvation of sinners.
The grace of God initiates the process, and the Catholic faithful cooperate with that grace. Importantly, grace is infused through the sacraments, thereby transforming the faithful so they can engage in good works in order to merit eternal life. Because salvation is a lifelong process, and because divine grace can be forfeited, Catholics believe in the loss of salvation. Consequently, they cannot enjoy the assurance of salvation, a doctrine embraced by many Protestants.

Salvation — how God works to rescue sinful people — continues to be a major doctrinal divide." (

Thus do the Roman Catholic hierarchy believe they have to "WORK" at these sins of the church(?).
This human effort is necessary to gain access to salvation.

Roman Catholic religious ideology is of course blasphemous, idolatrous and heresy.

Me neither, fellow Floridian.

All catholic clergy either know about what takes place or participate in pedophilia and/or homosexuality.

There is no catholic clergy that doesn’t support what happens. They simply pretend to be offended.

A potential priest can say he is a homosexual, but as long as he has been abstinent for a certain period of time, it is okay.

I think of them as politicians who condemn bribery of one politician, but then take their share of bribes from lobbyists and others.

Yes, there is none good, no not one. A bad tree cannot produce good fruit.
