SERMONAUDIO TIP
New Book .. The Case for United Prayer
Attention everyone!

It seems that what fills the airwaves and pulpits these days is a very skillful cataloging and lamentation of the decadent state of affairs both in the church and in society at large. We understand all too well the degenerate moral condition of our day .. and there's no shortage of podcasts, commentaries, or sermons stating the obvious.

But what ought the church do in such a day? Is there anything that we can do? Can we learn anything from our forefathers?

This book seeks to make the case that what we need in our day is united prayer. It reminds us that the warfare we are engaged in has been fought in every generation and that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Presented within these pages are excerpts from the works of Jonathan Edwards (An Humble Attempt), Samuel Prime (Power of Prayer in the NYC Revival), and Richard Cross. These men, from three different centuries, had the same burden given the needs of their day, the burden that God’s people would be united in prayer.

Click on the above books to order from our SA Online Store today. Please be sure to check out our republication of Tozer's classic, The Pursuit of God, as well.

Remembering God’s marvelous works in the past enlarges our faith in the place of prayer and gives us bright hope for the future. The purpose of this book is to inspire and invigorate God’s people to take up the same mantle in our own generation and to “give ourselves continually to prayer” (Acts 6:4).

My heart is personally warmed whenever I read the very wise and practical exhortations from Jonathan Edwards to fix upon certain seasons where we resolve to devote to the duty of united prayer to prevent forgetfulness and negligence. And then when I read of the amazing account of the spirit of prayer that overtook New York City in the 1850s. The Lord keep our hearts ever warmed!

May God bless this humble attempt.
