Josh Harris, fallen evangelical mega-pastor: "I excommunicated myself"
Josh Harris, once one of America's most famous evangelical pastors, admitted in his first interview since renouncing Christianity that he ruined lives and marriages, so he excommunicated himself from the faith that made him famous.

"If you're not living according to the teaching of the Bible, and you're living in unrepentant sin, then you have to be put out of the church," Harris told "Axios on HBO" during an interview near his home in Vancouver, British Columbia. "I excommunicated myself, essentially."

Between the lines: Harris — who has started a company called Clear & Loud to help businesses tell their stories — chose not to say what his "unrepentant sin" is, although he noted that "oftentimes, that's related to sexuality." ...

Josh Harris is certainly right about that anyway.
So Harris has the moral standing to comment on things damaging to the gospel and the church? Even hypocrisy has value, as long as it is against Trump? This is so hilarious, Jim. I'm sure you can do better.

And what was Mr. Harris comments based upon, Jim? The fear among the LGBT community that President Trump is against them...which hasn't panned out that way based on his very vocal support?

The "liberation of the LGBT commumity" to pursue their sins openly while demanding broad popular support is this poor men's agenda at this point, I suspect. And anyone that stands in the way will be run over.

"I don't think it's going to end well. ... you look back at the Old Testament and the relationship between the prophets and really bad leaders and kings, and oftentimes it was, it's not something you unwind because it's, it's actually in the scriptures presented as God's judgment on the False Religion of the day. ... this is the leader that you want and maybe deserve. That represents a lot of who you are."

Sounds like you're calling it, Wayfarer, and I do believe you will be proven right. Mr. Harris' new friends from college helped lead him into bigger and badder sins, or perhaps helped unearth what was already running through His heart.

My problem is why don’t people simply stop the running train wreck gag. He either wants more attention than a 15 year old or he wasn’t getting enough attention after he “ settled “. Fine, you don’t believe in God, fine. There is not a worse situation for a person to renounce God, after leading the life he has. Contrition must be for believers, because this man isn’t grieving for his children or to his ex wife’s sorrow. It’s as if.... wait for it, “ and I’m queer” is on the cover of people and his own television show with Oprah and Rob Bell is all that is missing.

As sad as this story has become, I have to admire Mr. Harris for being honest about who he is and what the Bible says. He could have twisted the word to give "cover" for his unrepentant and unofficially announced sin. He did not. He was honest enough to state the standard.

That's a whole lot better than many of these pastors and teaching elders today. Take Pastor Johnson from St Louis as an example. Instead of quietly asking for prayer and counsel from his presbytery, he announced himself to be a celebrate gay Christian. Jesus never said it was Ok to "look but don't touch." He said adultery begins in the heart. Sin isnt to be explained away, it is to be mortified. Neither Harris nor Johnson are apparently doing that, but quietly growing it until it explodes onto the scene in all its ugliness and destruction.
