Bernie Sanders releases a plan to legalize marijuana nationwide
Bernie Sanders aims to legalize marijuana nationally and use tax money from sales to boost business creation and economic development in areas disproportionately hit by current drug laws.

The senator says he will take executive action directing the Justice Department to declassify marijuana as a controlled substance in his first 100 days in office, then work to pass a bill making legalization permanent.

Sanders plans to review all federal and state marijuana convictions and expunge past convictions. ...

Adriel, I've no issues with the Scripture you've posted. Please reread where I said I do not endorse getting high. I agree, it's foolish.

1Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

1Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

2Tim 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

That thinking is what leads to tyranny and silly laws like you can't choose to purchase raw milk...where does it end? There's no biblical jurisdiction for government control on what one does with their own body.

It should never have been illegal in the first place. It's not the governments job to control what people do with their own body.
On the other hand .......

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

The war on drugs is a war that can't be won by laws and regulations; a change of heart through salvation is what pot heads need. It should never have been illegal in the first place. It's not the governments job to control what people do with their own body. They don't care anyway; find a way to tax it and it's cool now. *not an endorsement of getting high

I would like to see Bernie smoke marijuana in a state where it is legal, just to show his real endorsement of it. Who knows--it might help his heart condition!
And, speaking of Democrat Party Presidential Candidates and their smoking marijuana, it does seem that Biden has smoked it for a long time. It's the only explanation for his ramblings.

Next they will legalize prostitution, heroin, cocaine and anything else that they all seem to personally favor. Loony Bernie would sell his soul (if he hasn't done so already) if that would further or advance his political ambitions.

You will find many Senators and Congressmen going for CBD even back in 2015 a variety of them did. (The Senate's experiment with cannabis)

I keep seeing CBD advertised on TV, but I'm still not sure about it's legality. (FDA sets first hearing on CBD in May as the agency looks at legalizing the cannabis compound in food and drinks)

Congress legalize that anyway but the FDA still may not have?

So not only Bernie Sanders wants legalization of strange things, but no doubt the GOP Libertarian Rand Paul does too? I'm a prohibitionist at heart, so I'm just about against all that.

No, Doc, they have been trying to accomplish the opposite for quite some time, thinking they could break the bands of the Lord and of His Christ (Psalm 2:3).

But he that dwelleth in the heaven shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. - Psalm 2:4

Instead of putting the wrong salve on their souls, blinding themselves further to their plight, these people need to

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, when his wrath shall suddenly burn. (because) Blessed are all that trust in him. - Psalm 2:12

The pro-marijuana crowd in California is greatly disappointed in the revenue created by the legalization of cannabis. Why? Too many taxes and too much government regulation. Anyone who thinks that it will be better under Mr. Sanders, has been smoking too much of that stuff.

Horrendous bait-and-switch. The people in those supposed areas in which drug enforcement activity has been high are not held hostage by the law enforcement but by drug traffickers. Legalization of marijuana won't make those problem areas better but much, much worse, further enslaving them
