In a federal court filing, Falwell and the young lawyer who sued him, Gordon Bello, said they have settled the case for an undisclosed ‚Äúmonetary sum‚ÄĚ that Falwell, the president of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, will pay Bello, a legislative aide for the Miami-Dade County Commission.
Bello sued in 2017, claiming he was promised a stake in the South Beach hostel that a Falwell family entity purchased in 2013 for $4.7 million. Bello, 28, claims he and his father, Miami builder Jett Bello, pitched Falwell on the hostel idea after being introduced by Giancarlo Granda, a high school friend of the younger Bello‚Äôs....
I wonder how many people gave offerings for the support of Liberty University, which ended up being part of the $4.7 million. As to it being a 'gay friendly' hostel, that would figure, being on South Beach. This Falwell has never impressed me as having the smarts to be a president of a college, but then, it has been a while since I watched that movie, "Animal House" which I recommend for every parent and grandparent saving $$ for their kids' college education.
Not sure if this came out in the referenced article, but the hostel is consider "gay friendly" per other reliable news reporting. This isn't your parents' Liberty University and certainly not your parents' Falwell.
