Schools: Math Racist, Oppressed Need Liberation From the Right Answer
In Seattle, mathematics is no longer a matter of addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, or integers, fractions, and variables.
A government-school document shows that students in Seattle will learn math in an âethnic studies frameworkâ that depicts the subject as oppressive, and that the right answer to a math question might be relative to a personâs ethnicity and culture.
Upshot of the course: Math is a racist tool the white man uses to oppress âpeople of color.â

Around 300 BC, Euclid introduced the axiomatic method still used in mathematics today, consisting of definition, axiom, theorem, and proof.

One thing true about math, beyond its practical use, is that it helps one to think in an orderly fashion. But thinking is anti-leftist, so leftist control freaks are opposed to it. Like Neil said, the dependent and ignorant are easier to control and manipulate. Calling math racist is a lie, put forth by the real racists who want to keep their base on today's version of the plantation.
Some Southern states had anti-literacy laws, so the idea isn't new. What does one need math for when one receives Basic Income? I think this is the agenda behind such anti-educational proposals: ignorant morons are dependent and more easy to manipulate and control, just like American slaves were. Frederick Douglass recalled that learning how to read, while a slave, depressed him greatly, so in a way, the slaveowners had a point. BTW, Thos. "Stonewall" Jackson ignored this law, to his credit.
Even the Soviets would've considered this foolish, and produced some brilliant mathematicians.
The NAAIP (National Association for the Aggrandizement of Ignorant People) is demanding that the book of Numbers be eliminated from the Bible, and that all references to numbers (Ten Commandments, twelve apostles, ten lepers, etc.) be expunged. If their demands are not met, the organization has threatened to boycott God, church, the Bible, America, and, just for good measure, motherhood and apple pie.
And we wonder why American students cannot keep up with foreign students.
This is, in fact, a direct attack on the recognition of orderly nature of creation and the regular way in which the Lord Jesus sustains it by the word of His power. The attack is because failing or struggling at math is making kids feel badly about themselves, which therefore must be someone else's fault. Whose to blame? White men. Well, there were actual people who rewrote math approaches to make things more difficult. Perhaps instead of a generic shellacking, they should focus on the actual textbook writers and return to the old ways of teaching in which kids actually learned something?
Meanwhile, homeschooling avoids many of these pitfalls.
