Christian health group threatens to kick out Mormons for not being Christian
A Christian health-care group is getting tough on Mormons, telling them to rethink their beliefs about God, or leave.
According to KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, Samaritan Ministries is contacting members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, urging them to align their faith more strictly to what it has posted in its statement of faith.
Many famous Americans are reportedly Mormons, including author Glenn Beck, actors Katherine Heigl and Jon Heder, entertainers Donny and Marie Osmond, singers Gladys Knight and Julianne Hough, Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, and former Sens. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah and Harry Reid, D-Nev.
"As a community of Christians who help other Christians with their health care, our Guidelines require that all adult members are in agreement with Samaritan Ministries' Statement of Faith in order to be members,†the Illinois-based group said in an email to Ryan Baker, a Mormon...
I wonder if this same health sharing ministry accepts Seventh Day Adventists, Jews, or Jehovah's Witnesses. I've heard SDAs have a longer lifespan than most others because they do not drink alcohol or caffeine. Jews also have a low rate of alcoholism, and avoid pork and shellfish that can bring on various diseases. JWs refuse blood transfusions, so that would save their insurance company some money.
Mormonism is a cult because it has a multiplicity of gods, they have a different jesus(their jesus is the brother of the devil), they have a different holy spirit(their holy spirit is a fluid or substance). There is absolutely nothing biblical about the Mormon cult. Catholicism on the other hand is not a cult because it worships the one true God by worshipping the biblical and historical Jesus as God.
I wish Presbyterians would hold their ordained men to such a standard. It's the Westminster Confession, not the "Westminster Suggestions.". But alas not good for business...
Its make obvious sense that any ministry or company has guidelines that the members have to follow. These Mormons were certainly familiar with their statement of faith and should know that this was coming once they sorted through the files...
I thought Mormons had their own self-support society like Social Security. The other post about Catholics being excluded makes you think...are they? that would certainly be a big issue, since the Roman Catholic Church is the largest one in the entire USA. Because of that size, I doubt they are being excluded from any of these 'Christian Health Cost Sharing" companies. Therefore, if you are a participant in them, you are also 'rubbing elbows' with them, sharing their health costs. At the same time, they are doing the same with you. Are you OK with that?
As Mike Gendron pointed out neither Catholics or Mormons are Christian

I only heard good things about this ministry. The fact that unbelievers are begging to get it shows God's way is better than the world's way. The Mormons can ask their prophets to make the same kind of ministry, but clearly won't, for it requires all to pitch in, something that their greedy overlords have no desire to do.
